Savinho | City reject Spurs approach

didn’t see this coming. feels similar to when palmer left. it hasn’t fully clicked for him yet but the potential is definitely there. I’d be fine with it if we got a decent fee and maybe a right-back in return.
 
I have no problem with selling Savinho. I don't really rate him but he is only 21 and can obviously become a good PL winger in the future. But we already have Marmoush/Foden/Cherki/Doku/Bobb/Bernardo capable of playing on the wings and all of them are as good as or better than Savinho in my opinion. I'm sure most agree we wont be winning trophies anytime soon with Doku and Savinho starting as wingers.

Hopefully selling Savinho would mean we can get another player in.
So far we have signed Reijnders (who is great), a "left back" from the worst non relegated defense in the league (who is exiting), an attacking player from Lyon who looks like a huge talent but is far from certain of being first choice, and a backup GK.
Thats a window thats decent if you have just won the league. It's not a very good response to the club having its worst season in a decade, when the ambition is to be the best in the world. In my opinion.

Good luck to the kid, i wish him well.
I just hope we get a decent fee for him , not the low fee we can be guilty of accepting

I don't think our set up this season will require actual wingers most of the time and there are other options who can play there. If he wants out, let him go if the fee is right, and it would be need to be very high to sell to any PL club, let alone Spurs.

As for not selling Kovacic or other older players, there needs to be a buyer. Considering Kovacic is unlikely to be playing before the window shuts, he's not going anywhere. Others may attract more interest as the season starts and clubs get more nervous about their own squads but it's going to be difficult to get the highest paid out of the door without having to pay a lot of their wages ourselves

If I'm Haaland, I'm pretty excited if I have a three of Foden-Cherki-Bernardo looking to play me in.

Ait-Nouri will be bombing down the left side. Hopefully a right back to do the same, worst case Nunes who is an attacking threat on that side and has pace.

We've very limited exposure to Reijnders but have already seen him pushing forward into the box and scoring two against Palermo.

Brazilians it’s more about playing for the international team if he sees it could harm his place he be edging to leave? We have better players to start before him! Yep he could be a worldly in a couple of years but that’s football.

I agree. But if he's also not got it about him to at least try, after one season, then we're well rid.

Funny you didnt mention Bob a far better player than Savino! I always look logically at situations and you can see why he wants to go and why we are willing to sell for a good fee!

Foden/Cherki/Bobb arn't all the same players. Also there is a huge disservice to Kova on here. People talk about him as if he is Mendy or someone, I think Kovacic still has it in him to be honest. There is no doubt the wingers (specially when they dont score) should have done better specially with Haaland in the middle, however it was an off season and I am definitely keep Savinho over dumping him. My mind boggles at why he wants to join Spurs though.
