Savinho | City reject Spurs approach

Players agree personal terms all the time, the selling club actually has to sanction it.

If we say well we value him at 100m - conversation over.

The fact we're pricing him lower than Elanga to free up space is what I think is daft.
We clearly don't value him at 100m or City would have briefed the news pack and this would be going nowhere.

I am sure some players do agree personal terms before a bid but I would be very surprised if the club weren't aware of this.

They're all good, that's not what I'm saying at all, really rate all 3. The issue is Dias, Gvardiol, Khus, Stones, Ake is more than enough.

We've built a squad with far too many centre backs, no right back, and now we're going to move a top 5 in his age group winger to accommodate Akanji in the squad.

Salah was at Basel at Sav's age, imo we're giving up a player who could be one of the best in the league in 4 years for players who wont be anywhere near the club then.

Plus I don't think Foden or Cherki are that comparable as players and Bobb's older with 6 goals and assists ever, not quite the 2nd coming of jarzinho this thread is making out.

Thats fair enough!

I think based on last seasons injury problems the amount of CBs we have for this season is definitely something to consider (just in case)

I always see Ake as a LB tbh, plus Stones can play in different areas. out of the 3 you suggested id say its only Akanji who has a value we could get any money from. Stones will be gone by end of season on a free.

I wouldnt say Akanji in the squad is keeping Savinho out the squad, its more to do with who's avalable in Sav's positions.

And yes I agree on Bobb, still very much unproven.

We buy young players and then sell them, we are a selling club now, if pep who sign players then sell them, would he sell messi or the other Barcelona players would he fuck

If anyone believes if Stones and Akanji had freed up squad places at the start of the summer that we'd still be selling a 21 year old, la liga TOTY, brazil international for 50m then fair enough but I think it very, very unlikely.

He's the fall guy to make the squad places work and keep the old guard happy (except grealish who we actually don't mind forcing out)

Echeverri is not a winger ,bernardo is not a winger, foden really isnt a winger. If Grealish and Savio leave , have to buy a proven right winger.

If Stones and Akanji had left you think we wouldn't have gone and bought two CB's?

Hes not a fall guy, hes quite simply not done enough to become someone we are that bothered about.

Now Bobb is back he has seemingly lost his head and decided he wants out to run to London with his pal Richarlison. Good luck to him.

No, we don't need 6 CBs. Keep Reis and have a non CB space.

The rest is just literally a story you've made up in your head about a bloke who was in the la liga TOTY being terrified an older guy with 6 goals and assists will take his place which I doubt.

It’s astonishing that we are even able to consider selling such good young players - maybe club policy moving forwards is the cherry pick ‘the finished article’.
I know fans who believe that Savinho is simply not good enough to be at the club.
I think 20 years ago the same fans would have been thrilled with the prospect of Savinho in our starting 11.
Shows how far we have come as a club and how spoilt we have become as fans. Folk don’t want to give good young players the chance to improve anymore. And as a club we don’t have to. The old saying ‘times money’ comes to mind.

Marmoush isn’t a winger. Doku and Bobb are our only natural wingers.

I’d have gave him another year and expect the club were but obviously this has thrown a curve ball in. Do you give him another year to prove himself or cash in and bring a ready-made elite level winger. We didn’t appreciate Mahrez enough.
