Not necessarily. Quite a few teams go one-to-one and that allows considerable space. We need both types of player or we force ourselves to play only in certain ways.

Neither Cherki nor Foden are wide wingers.

Both desperately want to play in the middle, what you said about Foden makes no sense, almost like you never watched him play.

Marmoush on LW inverting with RAN overlapping is obviously what we would do, that's literally his best position, Marmoush can't play as a striker.

Foden won player of the year, playing the majority of games wide! He has never cemented a place centrally. It’s like you have never watched him…?? Maybe he does over the next year or so (its where i thought he’d end up) but its still in the air currently!

Marmoush needs to play centrally. Somehow!! He is 100% a striker/second striker up to him joining us. Maybe we force him to the left to get him in the team but its far from guaranteed he’s a success there!

One of the wingbacks will be off to AFCON and the other is a centre midfielder covering there because he was incapable of playing the role for which he was bought. What happens if one is injured?
I agree that we will use that system, but as we saw last season, once clubs have seen a system, they quickly find a way to blunt it. After all, there was a reason we bought Doku and Savinho in the previous two summers.

I would have agreed with you.

But we just saw in the CWC and in our game against Palermo, Pep is still more likely to play wide wingers, maybe not 2, but atleast 1.

Otherwise I'd agree with you, if Savinho goes, then those "wingers" you listed play inside instead and we have enough depth as you said.

This would mean we should be linked to a RB to make that system work to rotate with Nunes... but instead we are linked with Rodrygo in a position in your scenario we are stacked in.

Your facts are wrong, the second I read your first sentence I stopped reading the rest.

He may start RW, but always ends up in the middle.

That's the fact, he isn't a wide winger.

What is going on in this club. Sell youn players we just bought. And to another premier league club. Like him and play him. Give him time. Only 21. get rid og older players instead. If this happens yet another move that dont make us challenge for the title. Regarding Bobb as a norwegian he is at the momnt not good enough for this team. We do have a front 3 but the 2 either side of Haaland have license to find space. Doku is very much a winger but the rest will all just drift into space.

If we play R AN and Nunez as full backs it's a very attacking set up.

I don’t think we can, especially if that means the centre is clogged up by Gundogan, Bernardo, and Kovacic. These players have their place but they are risk-averse and conditioned to recycling possession. Cherki needs to be given the same freedom to drift as de Bruyne enjoyed, otherwise stuck on the wing we make the opposition’s life easier.
