Savinho | City reject Spurs approach

As disappointing as it would be to lose him, it does seem like it's come entirely from him rather than the club. Either he isn't interested in fighting to be our first choice winger or Spurs are offering him a healthy pay rise, if not both

In whatever case, good luck to him. I'm sure we'll be fine in the long run

He probably wants to live in London. Brazilians love London.

Very strange if he goes and Nico possibly if he’s not going to get playing time, unless we have someone in the pipeline

Rotate both on the RW?

It's not that complicated, whoever impresses more, plays a little more, but the other would still play. We need wide winger depth.
It’s also up to the management to use the bench more productively. It’s not about starting elevens but minutes played across a long season.

Savinho can also play wide left.

He had 3 goals (all competitions) for City last season.. as a winger. I think we need to sell him but only if we're buying Rodrygo as a replacement.

I don’t think we can, especially if that means the centre is clogged up by Gundogan, Bernardo, and Kovacic. These players have their place but they are risk-averse and conditioned to recycling possession. Cherki needs to be given the same freedom to drift as de Bruyne enjoyed, otherwise stuck on the wing we make the opposition’s life easier.
I think Pep will play Gundogan/Silva, unfortunately. Especially early on. I don't want that to happen but the writings on the wall for me. Hope im wrong

I'd sell him at the right price, but the right price has to be closer to £90-100m than £50m. He's 21 and has shown he can score loads of goals. Give him another season or two before we consider moving him on unless it's at an astromical profit. £50m is a nothing fee in this day and age.
not even close to being a £100m player. Bought for about £31M so a £50M sale is a good profit and personally I'd snatch their hands off.

Looking at the real wingers we've had the last few years, Sane, Sterling, Mahrez, Savinho and Doku, ranking them 1-5 and Sav would be 4th at best

I suspect you’re right. The second-half side in Palermo looked more like what we’ve come to expect. Fine trampling over a Serie B side, of course, but more finesse will be needed in the coming weeks.

What no Grealish?…

I think Bobb, while still recovering, has higher potential. He is a very clever player who rarely makes a bad decision. That’s quite rare in football.
Potential only means a player hasn't done it yet. I have these 2 at the same level as things currently stand. Neither is in front of the other. It should be down to who does it on the pitch. Already we seem to be expecting recent signings to play out of their preferred positions e.g Marmoush and Cherki.

It's crazy how one can finish 4th in the Ballon D'Or young player voting and still be on the same level.

I'm surprised how many blues don't get what we've got in Savinho. Give it 5 years and we'll all be talking about how unlucky he was to have a 2% conversion rate the year he was here.

He's better than Salah was at 21, not far off Rodrygo right now (never more than 15 G/A in la liga), much better than elanga or madueke who just moved for more.
