Seems a good lad but I never understood why we went in for him in the first place as I don't think he was really the right fit for us.

I wish him all the best for the future and hope he does well.
Three league titles , one FA CUP and Champions league winner and major part of the treble winning team , hope we sign some other mis fits .

The exorbitant transfer fee was not his fault, and he should be regarded as a city legend having played a key role in helping us win the treble.

I think he’ll be a great signing for Everton. Their fans should be excited for the upcoming campaign.

All the best, Jack.

Is it?

Look, people will have their own opinions on whether Jack has been a success here and worth the money we paid. The opinions will largely be based on what the team won during that period, rather than his own form. What I find an odd take, is this idea that signing someone for £100m and then sending him on loan to Everton 4 years later, is somehow a sign that everything went great and just as planned.
Exactly. But some will say that is a success.

It's not an odd take at all. He hasn't worked out here; he's going to a relegation fodder club before fulfilling his contract. I love Jack, he's a wonderful human being and I wish him well, but he isn't going to re-establish himself here. We need to accept it was a failed vanity project, and move on.
Very odd take

Hope it works out for him. I like him, he’s a better player than he’s shown, I just think he never truly believed in himself at this level. Performances like Liverpool at home in the Treble season have been far too few and far between. The consistency needed in the head is as important as it is physically. You have to believe in yourself to an almost arrogant amount to make it at the top level, or be someone with an incredible work ethic.

Play him in the middle Everton. Be very interested to see how he does.
He played in the middle and got MOTM at home to Forest last season. Everyone was thinking the Foden issue would be solved for the rest of the season. Yet he followed it up with a competely anonymous performance in the same position at Juventus… and Pep felt he couldn’t trust him.

He then picked up yet another injury which I think lost Pep completely.

Aye, I honestly thought he should have played instead of Gundogan at every opportunity last year but that argument is moot now. I would like to see how he goes in the middle at everton though.

So with him gone who is the good person left at the club or everyone who now remains is asshole?

Becuase the way people write for him here - Nice lad good bloke top bloke wonderful human being - never seen any other player being called as nice guy here good human being top bloke here.
Shame for others

Ditto. Think it was Pep being pragmatic & wanting to keep the ball better further up the pitch. However, we lost a lot of goals as a consequence as JG has never been a regular scorer.

I'll always love Jack. The transfer fee wasn't his fault and the hatred he gets from other fanbases (and sometimes even our own) is downright strange for someone who, by all accounts, is a genuinely kind and decent person.

Played a crucial role in our treble season, we'll never forget that.
