Inferring that we are in the midst of that process? I am, of course, because none of us really know. That is, I suppose, the basic tenet of my post - people are getting carried away on the emotion of a potential sale rumoured on Twitter. It is causing such ire that posters are complaining about the squad, about Viana, and about last season, when it is just a social media post. We just have to trust that there is a process.Sorry, but you are inferring that. I’m quite sure that the original poster is aware that we don’t have a side of players aged over 30.
We didn’t sell de Bruyne, did we?. He left because we would not offer him a new contract, ditto Carson. They would still be around if not. In much the same way, if Gundogan, Kovacic, Ake, Akanji, and Stones had been out of contract this summer, I doubt we’d have renewed any of them. The club wanted loyalty and sacrifice from those players and got it, and now the players are understandably wanting their payback. Is it best for the development of the club? Probably not.
I always said the rebuild would take 2-3 seasons, so in that regard I’m realistic. It might even take longer.
Regarding DeBruyne, I don't even know. I just use the word sale when we choose for a player to leave.
I suspect he was always the most likely of the older players as his talents were so unique.
