Savinho | City reject Spurs approach

Having said that, if we put the following up for sale none of the elite teams would be interested

Lewis, Stones, Akanji, Gundogan, Kovacic, Ake, Ederson, Ortega, Nico G, Bernardo, Nunes

so Savinho is not alone and unlike all the above bar Lewis he's likely to improve.

Steady the Bluemoon massive will be alerted to this, how dare you?

:)

We are one of the elite teams and we are/were interested in them!

The only reason most of those wouldn't attract attention now, if for sale, its their ages and/or injury records. Not quite the same thing.

Elite teams? I think that's rather unkind, a case of familiarity breeding contempt. All of them would be welcome additions at any top club.

Looks like he is off. Let's see if we can agree a fee with Madrid for Rodrygo.

I think the issue with Savinho is partly that he’s much better on the left, but with the signing of Ait-Nouri, the LW needs to be a right footer playing inside. And Savinho doesn’t have the composure or finishing to do that job on the right either.

To me Savinho is visually misfit with City team’s play style. The team plays high position team control game and Savinho is the one who is reluctant to engage team work transposition and tend to give up possession cheaply and doesn’t track back. His seemingly good assist number came from high turn over and his not tracking back is not shown in stats.

Level and Spurs will walk away when City ask for the correct transfer fee.

We all know Levy is a tight ****.

This doesn't make sense to me.

Savinho is better on the left but we don't play him there.
But IF he leaves, we may replace him with Rodrygo who wants out of Madrid because he wants to play on the left!

Why don't we just keep Savinho and put him there then?

But, if Savinho does want to leave, can't we just save the money and keep Echeverri!

I was left somewhat mystified by events yesterday, but the reality is that you cannot progress with players who sulk when things don’t go their way. If Savinho lacks the desire to stay and fight for his place, then it’s in everyone’s best interests to let him move on. We are Manchester City, not Tottenham Hotspur or Newcastle United. No disrespect.

There’s no doubting his natural talent, yet he remains a deeply frustrating figure. Too often he chooses to pass when the opportunity to shoot is better, and shoots when a simple pass would have been the better option. Physically, he appears light for the demands of this league, and his mentality, in my view, seems fragile for someone so young. I still recall the incident against Spurs when he left the pitch on a stretcher, only to play again three days later. It’s moments like that which leave question marks.

It may seem a touch short sighted, but if the opportunity arises to sign a player of Rodrygo’s calibre - someone who has already won it all, then it is one we simply have to take. His winning mentality and wealth of experience would bring a transformative influence to the team, as would Donnarumma's. For what we lost with Kev, we can replace with these 2. Rodrygo is, quite simply, a winner, and I believe that once he steps out from the considerable shadows of the egotistical trio of Bellingham, Mbappe, and Vinicius Junior, he will have the platform at City to elevate his game to another level.

Sell Savinho. Sign Rodrygo.

Yeah exactly this. Levy for most part a skinflint if they bought dross like Richarlison & Ndombele for £60m+ in the past Sav is worth £70m+ easily

That’s questionable because he couldn’t dominate before vinicius turned into an absolute star, Mbappe and Bellingham joined. I strongly believe that people make him better than he is. Those egoists don’t exist in the national team and he doesn’t do shit there either. In the national teqm he doesn’t even play on the wings and is always outplayed by his counter parts in Raphinha and Vini. Even estevao had a better game the last time. Rodrygo is getting one of the best PR‘s I’ve seen in a long time. Individual ability he is nowhere s exciting or special as former failed Madrid players like Sneijder, Van der vaart, sahin, Ozil, James or Robben. I seriously hope that if he was to join that he shows me that I am wrong - but from what I’ve seen there isn’t anything special about him.

The signing of him makes zero sense anyways when we just acquired Marmoush who occupies the same spaces and cost a similar price and similar wages. Selling a RW to get ANOTHER LW is bad squad planning.
( oh sorry I know the commissioner and his goons are going to attack me for this )

Marmoush has way more goals and assists 28/17 vs 20/14 this past season than Vinicius, despite playing for Frankfurt for most of it. Vinicius is nominated for Ballon d'Or, Marmoush isn't.

Rodrygo in and out of the side because Madrid likes to have new toys. The only PR I see here is the one to justify moving Rodrygo on to Madrid fans.

Savinho is a real talent. He will go on to prove it, I am convinced of that.
At present, regarding his move, we know nothing other than the odd post on socials.
It is the way of the world and I have to get with the programme.

Yesterday, I refused to engage with a Twitter feed that asked, 'Why does nobody discuss Manchester City's transfer failures?' It then proceeded to list five or six players, including Savinho and Doku.' It was created by a Chelsea fan with a plethora of followers. The idea of creators making money by dropping a controversial pebble in a pond just to elicit ripples of engagement is a turn-off for me.

I also saw an alleged City fan who had created a post apologising to all Burnley fans for depriving them of James Trafford knowing we were going to sign Donnarumma anyway. It made me cringe. He wasn't apologising, he was saying anything to get engagement. If this is a part of the world we live in, I'll choose the off button.
