His time at the club slightly predated my support of City so I never saw him live, but not overly impressed with what I’ve seen on camera. Looked cumbersome and slow to me. Great first touch though. And another big City character.

The way he was hounded out of broadcasting, because of one off-the-cuff, ill-judged comment was an absolute fucking disgrace.

What will Rodney be remembered for at City... a great goal against Derby at home and being a lazy bastard away from home

Scored a wonderful overhead kick to beat a park-the-bus QPR (when they were decent).

Franny Lee was with City until 1974, so he was at Derby County when they won the 1st division in 1975.

Correct I've combined the two events wrongly. Derby won it 72 and 75.

In truth he didn't cost us the league. We bought him, we tried unsuccessfully, to change our style to accommodate him, we failed. Was always a bit unsure why he got the blame.
Care to explain Malcolm?

I wonder if he’ll tell his Alf Ramsey story and why he didn’t get picked for England again?

I’m sure most will know it but, for the couple that don’t.

England manager Alf Ramsey told him "I'll be watching you for the first 45 minutes and if you don't work harder I'll pull you off at half time," to which Marsh replied: "Crikey, Alf, at QPR all we get is an orange and a cup of tea."

When we signed Marsh at the time,it was a huge transfer/ statement by the club, a real flair player,very skilful,easy to be critical, but he scored some great goals.
