Savinho | City reject Spurs approach

Absolutely no guarantee his finishing will ever improve.

I like him, loved him at Girona and was excited to see him at City but the club seem pretty easy about him going and the lad isn’t digging his heels into stay so good luck to him
I bet he never shoots 2% again unless you genuinely believe he continues his entire career as at least a very quality player but still the absolute worst finisher in Europe (even though he was a statistically average finisher in Spain).

He shot 5 times under the average. It's not particularly ambitious to say he'll largely shoot just under or just over the average. And that's still with getting a decent proportion of his shots on target. More than Rodrygo for example.

He scored 1 goal in 29 league games. I know he’s got potentially a high ceiling if he learns to shoot and I would never have sold him unless he wants to go which it looks like he does. But they just paid 55m for Kudus who has done a fair bit more in this league than Savinho and Eze looks like he’s going for 55-60, I know he’s older but he also has the English premium. But they are 2 players who are currently quite a long way ahead of Savinho.

But I just don’t think we are getting more than 60million quid when all we are selling at this stage is potential. Unless the bid was 60 million which included a lot of unrealistic add ons I don’t think we are turning that down.
I disagree. Based on having watched him play. If there is any truth to the reports, the club do too. I'd be disappointed if we got as little as 60m for him. He could have gone for close to that based on hos previous season alone, had he not been part of the cfg where we got him for a bargain.

Those bids have been rejected. Don't try and be a smartarse, everyone has his price and if an offer is made you listen. Would they accept £1 billion for Haaland. Yes so button it.

Sounds like Savinho is really pushing for this now, must be getting a decent contract and a guarantee of 1st team football, seems bizarre to push so heavily for Spurs but he must be getting a feeling that Pep really doesn't fancy him.

Spurs will pay up and then we'll go and get Rodrygo sealed. Works out really well for us.

I wondered all week whether this was actually Pep deciding we need more reliable output in attack and being prepared to flip one of the wingers but I think that given Savinho seems to be training on his own away from the group and not even at the club suggests Pep is really pissed off with him for asking to leave despite all the opportunities Peps given him and would more or less confirm Savinho is the only one driving this. If it was just pep not being too keen on him he wouldn’t have stopped him training.

Pep doesn’t really elaborate on anything player related to the press but if he’s pissed off with Savinho I expect we will see tomorrow, more by the way he talks rather than what he actually says.

Or maybe he let him know we're going for Rodrygo (how long has he been flirting with us?!), Savinho said OK I'd be best off going to Spurs to make sure I make the world cup squad and now we're wrapping him in cotton wool so both deals happen.

Can we just keep him ffs, break Sav's foot, reset it to straight, and glue a laser on it? Then he can come back in 4-5 months, sorted, or we can sell him next season.

Adding Marmoush and Cherki, plus a fit Bobb, has made it more difficult for him to get enough starts. He knows Bobb is a talent, Foden is expected to be better as well. Doku can play on the right side, too.
