Rico Lewis | Set to sign a new 5-year contract (pg33)

Funny seeing all the keep him comments, when most of last season the comments were he's shite/too small/not good enough.
Same with savino/ederson/nunes, it seems they all have gotten pelters for poor performances yet the new majority want them all to stay.
As has already been said, if we get a right full back then where would Rico get into the team? We are stacked in midfield

Great news. You heard any names mentioned as his replacement?
My earlier post of ‘interesting times’ was because of the update I received today. This Rico news being part of it.

Some stuff I am told not to post here. But I couldn’t help but hint at things happening.

As for names with regards to the right back situation, I gave you two names already. And they are still of interest to the club. Livramento and Gusto.

Ederson situation has always been clear also, he’s wanted out for a long time. And was always actively seeking to find a new team. I stuck by this even when reports was saying he was staying.

Exactly.

This rebuild isn't just about trying to move the older players on. It's also about moving on players who just aren't at our level. Players like Savinho, McAtee and Rico Lewis

I hope this isn’t true. The transfer policy seems to be get rid of all young players, keep the old experienced players and spend huge amounts of money on ready made players.

It feels very short term thinking to me. Why not sell Bobb and Oreily?

The amount of abuse Rico has got from so called city fans has been ridiculous as well.
I'm not sure it's case of keep the old players and sell the young ones. I think it might be in today's market most buyers want youth not those approaching their twilight in football terms

A lot of that fits, Nuno likes a formation change or three per match. We’ve got the CB’s to play three at the back plus we’re trying to get away from low block /quick transitions and break teams down. Having just got Hutchinson for £35m plus IgorJesus, Anderson and MGW already here. RB is his best route into the first 11
Potentially looking at him as a progressive ball carrying DM? Who can also cover rb and probably lb against lesser sides.

Rico is a good player, versatile with a good mentality, his issue is that he isn’t yet good enough to play in the middle for us (look at the quality we have there) and Pep will only trust truly elite players in the DM spot. I can see him doing well for Forrest, 40m with a sell on and buy back - IF he wants to go.

We never stopped looking at the right back situation despite what the press was saying. We are still in the market for a right back.

You can check my history about this.
Do you have any clue if one is likely to come in this window or later?

Just can’t see either Newcastle or Chelsea selling to us? Newcastle have been decimated already and Isak is probably going and Chelsea consider themselves (and could well be) direct rivals for the PL.
