Rico Lewis | Set to sign a new 5-year contract (pg33)

Does it need pulling around, been quite good, not perfect and may yet improve a bit but good.
I do think so yes.

I'm not sure we have addressed the burning issues in the starting XI yet, admittedly there are quite a few, and it will likely take more time.

60m + for Lewis and McAtee is great business and gives us more opportunity.

I like the look of Gusto. But Lewis is a HG player whereas Gusto is non-HG. We are in the limit as it is so I can’t see a non-HG coming in at rightback unless Akanji or Nunes goes as well
If we get a right back whether HG or non HG. Then I think Akanji will be gone as we would still have Nunes

“Stones, Akani, Grealish, Gundo, Mcatee, Nunes.”

Damien10s initial post ^

Pep did mention Saudi today and they have previously shown interest in Nunes. Be risky to let him and Rico go though unless we have assurances on one of those RBs

If he/she has the inside track then they have the inside track.
I can’t seen Stones going at this stage. Although id drive Nunes to whoever wants to pay for him - I’d keep Lewis for his versatility same with Akanji

If we bought a 1st choice proper right back then I’d reconsider but I can’t seen Gusto or Liveremento at this stage. But that’s just a hunch, I don’t have any info

Think we’ve addressed all of them except right back. Also think we have the best squad in the league, may take a while for it to pull together but a lot of groundwork doe for the next few years.

His physical limitations are always going to prevent him from being the best option for us at RB and I don't think he's quite good enough as a CAM to play regularly over other options. I love the guy, but I think City should seriously consider it. Very tidy and if he could play further forward in general I think he could be have a really excellent career.

Maybe give him another year as a depth/squad option, but after this season we'll have to give serious thought to shifting him since his contract will be down to 2 years at that point. If he sticks around he really needs to impress to be worthy of a new deal.

I am pretty neutral on Rico. I think he's a decent player with limitations that will (likely) always hold him back a bit. But being club trained really increases his value for us. Even if he's just a 20-25 game a year bench player, that is very, very valuable to have in the squad. Especially since he's theoretically got some positional versatility (RB, Midfield).

This could be a great deal for Rico and City.
£30 million bid would likely be enough for us to start negotiating.
Get anywhere near £40 million and that would be good business.
50% of the Livramento fee?

PSR covered

Issak thats says he's never going to play for them again? A very simplistic way of looking at it .
I have however on the Lewis thread a way we could possibly get Livramento, if we ended up with Donnaruna we could maybe offer Trafford on loan for a year, they would find right back easier to cover than a keeper and means Trafford doesn't get upset being benched whilst we work out if Donnarumma is suited and if Trafford is good enough

Given the choice I'd keep him, as more minutes may be available next year when Gundo and Kova probably go.

That said, if he wants minutes now, and we get a buyback included then that works too.

I don't think we'll use the one for McAtee, but could see Rico coming back possibly if he has a full season in midfield somewhere
