At 18 Rico outperformed top level veterans and displaced them and by all measures was not just about Pep making a point, but merit for what we saw on the pitch.

He was also socially isolated (as we saw in Netflix Together doc, in the dressing room after that one match) and still came to do his job.

- One of his 2 reported inspirations are Muhammed Ali and his father whom we met in Netflix Together the latter is also a direct genetic influence. Remember what his father does and how he spoke? It stood out to me as "Ohh that's why Rico is who he is."

He's had some setbacks, but here's a quote from the MEN on Rico and this in particular:



For me, sure sometimes these are just words, but based on what we've seen when he is counted out, given the maturity and age these words match what we've see on the pitch.

All whilst undersized, and without the most pace...Yet, he is a pest in defence, strong at ball retention, and makes intelligent runs (as referenced).

I'm curious given these signs what is the significant enough argument to with abolute confidence state he will never make it here?

Do we wonder if that's ever been said to him before?

I will state, OF COURSE, he MIGHT NOT MAKE IT. But I think it's too early to write him off, and I would much rather keep him, OR...If it is that he goes, I hope it's with the idea that there's a buyback with the notion that he WANTS to return, which I gather he would, if after a season or 2 elsewhere he develops and shows it in a side that isn't full of top level talent...

An argument I know some make against him regularly.

Yep, what I mean is that at least 6 of these players are from "bench" and we are still winning comfortably..

With Rodri, Gvardiol and other ones we will be even stronger..
