Wolves (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Stronger first-half than second, when we actually lost our way a bit and were on the back foot before getting the all-important third goal. It was harder going than 4-0 suggests, and Wolves admittedly do look short of quality, but for us there were a lot of positives given how little they’ve played together.
There’s still an air of job done 2-0 up for me Fk that , kill em off

Just finished watching and well played CITY!

It took a while to get going but when we can score at any moment it will change games.

There were a lot of good performances and we scored some great goals.
Reijnders, Erling's second and Cherki's were quality.

Reijnders is a top player. His running and passing is exactly what we needed and if he's going to score goals like today, he will be special!

I thought Trafford did well, Johnny Boulders was his usual self and good to see Oscar play well.

I'm really happy and looking forward to seeing us improve in the coming weeks.

I thought we started off the game slow, the tempo was slow and we weren't moving the ball quickly enough, players taking too many touches on the ball.

When the first goal went in the shackles seemed to come off and we were much more fluent and precise in our actions, we looked really sharp.

Reijnders was exceptional today, the lad was everywhere, one minute he's taking a shot, next minute he's getting blocks in at the edge of his own box, he has the legs to run all day! I can only imagine how good he's going to be when Rodri is back.

Rico was really good today too, Stones is vitally important to this team the way he can carry the ball out from the back and break lines, he's our only centre back who can do it, Ait-Nouri is a class act too.

Very positive performance today.

Well done blues.
What frustrated me at the start was that the balls out wide to Bobb or Doku were to their feet instead of over the top. They have no chance to do anything positive then and need to recycle backwards or sideways.

Also any ball to Haaland was practically impossible for any Norwegian God to score from. He's not 10 feet tall.

Once we started putting the ball in front of players they had space to run onto it and it lead to multiple goals.

Passing to space I think is key for us to improve in attack.

Imperative we try and keep Stones fit,but we just know with the international break coming up he’ll play all the games and 90mins plus then unfortunately break down,I hope City tell stones and England in moderation..

Great result but I thought that there was an improvement in our defence position on offside with a good line held. Maybe this was down to our new assistants. Now onto our next task of beating spurs.

In fairness, I thought we struggled a little bit with Wolves at the start of the second half. They upped the pace and then went more direct, targeting our left. Once we got the third, however, I thought the substitutions saw us keep the momentum high and the chances coming. There was no hint of using Gundogan or Akanji to slow it down and match their physicality, so that was a pleasant change.

Relatively poor season last year (by previous standards) and thought away from home first game bode our time and felt our way into the game and ultimately got what we deserved Highly impressive for me Cmon City

Calling it Reijnders player of the season for us , pleased for trafford , bobb , Rico and especially Nico who's prob silenced a few with that perfomance

Thought it interesting he replaced Stones with Khusanov.
Everyone played well but for me Doku is the weak link.

Agreed.

I've always like the look of Gonzalez.
There won't be a better midfield three than Rodri, Gonzalez and Reijnders .

I really hope Rico stays!

It would be in the interests of all parties if it were agreed that Stones played just one of the two games. We would probably prefer him to play the Andorra match on Saturday 6th and not the Serbia game on Tuesday 9th. England probably want both or at least the Serbia game. We face that lot on Sunday 14th, so I suppose 4 day’s rest might suffice. Would be folly if he attempted to play in all three, no matter how he feels.

First half hour was us getting up to speed, but from then, fuck me.

(Had a couple so the spelling could be off)

Reindeers was fucking mint. If him, Foden and Haaland can work together we're gonna be immense.

Ait-Anori looked like he's played in the team for years.

Trafford, fuck me, a shot stopping ball playing keeper. Don't want to get ahead of myself, but I think he's the best keeper in the world. :)

What I really liked was we got two goals from a player just having a fucking go, rather than trying to find a pass. A few shots were wild, but we've stepped into the modern game that was passing us by last year.

I don't want to get ahead of myself again, but I'm pretty sure we're doing 10 in a row :)

Have a good night all
