10 | Rayan Cherki - 2025/26

I think at home the full backs can push on more, so less need for out and out wingers. Personally, I’d like to see a bit of a 4231, with Cherki, Bobb and Marmoush/Foden behind Haaland. Guess the flip side is that’d leave us more vulnerable to the counter, which Spurs are good at exploiting.
Trying to fit Foden in is getting harder to justify as other players establish their roles in the side.

Obviously there’s going to be loads of games and rotation, but he doesn’t seem the certain pick that he was 18 months ago. He needs to rediscover his hunger.

I’d be all for the most technical players playing together though.

Just effortlessly comfortable with the football. He will give it away at times but if it's in exchange for those beautiful flicks and the intricate pass and move football he was at the heart of when he came on then I can live with that. Got such brilliant awareness of where the space is around him too, a special talent.

Sexy cameo. He's going to be needed to break down stubborn sides. Coming off the bench more often than not for the start of the season will probably benefit us and him quite a bit, let him run ruit against tired legs and slowly ease him in.

Has the aura of a top player that I'm hoping rubs off on Foden, as they both have ridiculous technical ability

Surprised he didn't start today but happy to see him being slowly played into the side
Said this about foden during the cwc. Cherki has that swagger of a kid going onto some random cages in a new area fancying himself as the best player and isnt afraid to back it up which then makes the person who was quietly the best player before he turned up step up and show off a bit too just to make his quality known to all too. Foden needs that arrogance to his game, I think cherki can get that reaction from Foden.

It's almost as if he steps onto any pitch and knows he's the best player on that pitch. We've seen it against United, Spain and in Pre Season. He's confident in his own ability, and as someone said above Phil Foden needs that trait of arrogance in his game too.

I didn't think anyone could match how I felt about KDB but this guy has a chance to be right there. Just plays the game in such a different fashion and adore players that are two-footed like him. My only concern is he is very loose with passes in key areas. Can get away with it against Wolves and but not really good teams. No doubt as he gets older he will clean some of that up.

Its ok to lose the ball 85 meters away from your goal.

Its not OK doing it like Akanji used to
