Pep Guardiola - 2025/26

We all realise what?
You certainly don’t speak for me or indeed any of the people I go to the match with.
In fact, you couldn’t be further from the truth.
We’re all expecting a very positive season with the revitalised squad we now have.
Perhaps because I’m in the FOC club and have seen the very low times, I’m filled with confidence and optimism for the coming season.
You think that current squad is going to win the league, and or multiple trophies next season?

No you don't do you…so you are one of the people that realises we wont “replicate our previous success” as I said.

What a positive season entails...well that's up for debate.

i haven't thought that any city squad in the last 15 years was going to win the title, of course i was hoping we did and had a good chance, same as this season, people want a squad that they guarantee will win the league and every trophy, does not work that way, we put together a squad hoping it will cover every situation that is thrown at you in the season, our squad as it stands is pretty decent and will challenge , bit of the rub of the green that deserted us last season and well be fine, cant believe all the negativity across bluemoon, if people aren't looking forward to the new season with fresh hope then maybe football isn't for you/them, some fans have turned into spoilt brats, look at the transfer thread full of fucking whinging, used to be a joy that thread.

imo ,very good squad, best manager in the world, best owners in the world, and some right whinging entitled fuckers for fans.

Good job I think we do have a chance of beating them then.
I respect the confidence and as fans of City, it’s honestly the right mind frame.
Can you just explain why you think we can get 90+ points or/and win the UCL? (don’t say Liverpool won it in 2005 or Chelsea 2012 we ain’t a park the bus dirty team) I just think defensively and Goalkeeper ain’t strong enough. Anyone else could answer this it’d be great too. This is the first season in a while I think we don’t look good enough. Especially now that it looks like no more signings

At least if your going to respond to a post, address the points made, rather than babble some nonsense thats not related in anyway.

The irony of you informing us all that you didn't think a man city squad in the last 15 years would win a title, and then later in your reply bemoaning negativity!

Unlike your annual self proclaimed negativity and doubt, I have felt we would win the league in a good chunk of the previous 15 seasons…and we did!

This season I don't think we will replicate whats gone before, with an average of 2+ trophies over the last 7 seasos.

Please don't construe this as entitlement or otherwise, just a fair appraisal of the squad as it today.

I don’t remember which game it was before Arsenal (H) last season in PL but we had just signed Gundo on loan and even though Bobb was already injured, I had a feeling that we would compete again as squad was strong and good

So what was our squad back then (Bobb already out)

Ederson
Walker Akanji Ruben Gvardiol
Rodri Bernie
KDB
Savio Haaland Doku

Subs: Ortega stones ake kova gundo grealish foden

That’s it

And we started really well, before Rodri we were hammering Arsenal, against Inter we also played good, they couldn’t even shoot, just parked the bus whole 90 minutes and in the end they played in final

And this year

KDB gone but Reijnders, Marmoush and Cherki in
Walker gone but Ait-Nouri and Khusanov in
+ Nico Gonzalez
+ Bobb is back
+ Rodri is back
+ Matheus got experience playing RB

So.. situation isn’t as bad as it seems to be

We will be there…

Don't think we will win the champions league for a couple of years we'll need to build up to that , and that's fine. Don't know if we'll win the league this year either but think we are a good 10 -15 points better, will that be enough might be might not that's okay too. Don't think any of the other teams have had a better window than us, don't think any other team has a better first 11 or squad but it will be fairly close,we do have a better manager. I do reckon we'll get about 100 goals if our defence improves on last year we will be there or there abouts.

huge season for Pep. i bet he wants to show up the fucking dippers, Arsenal and in league. also have a go at CL.that fucking window last summer and being tooooooo comfortable, maybe bit of hunger lost overall, got us in trouble but now new signings, new energy, new backroom staff (Lillo sleeping on bench no more), probably somewhat new style of play with quicker, more aggressive play and harder work off the ball I bloody hope it works out.

it might be the first of his last two seasons here, better make it great before the final one.
PL and FA cup this season with the treble next season.:)
how good it would be win the title back when dippers make this sick spending.

just none of that slow tempo play please where Dias and Akanji passing the ball to each other 39 times as our "attacking". bit better set pieces etc.

Agree mate, look at the post count on the posters (admittedly mine is low because i historically prefer to read). I think we are starting to get a flow of the sort of posters i read on social media on here - those that have only known domination and seem to live in expectation (entitlement) rather than hope

I spend time on this forum while I'm sitting on the throne so I read a lot but don't talk much because most of what needs to get out comes out the other end. Low post count explained.

That's more like it. Delighted with his words about us attacking quicker this season.

Felt he used the subs really well too, actually used all 5 and not just for 3 minute cameos. got the right players on, protection for key players like haaland and stones, good to see. When you've got strength in depth, it's always baffling to not use it, the bench was deeply underused last season.

It was also telling that the players he brought on were the new guys or younger players

Ake , Akanji and Gundogan all stayed on the bench

The Spurs bench will be really interesting as Gvardiol, Foden and Rodri will all be due back in contention

Will he still the three from yesterday in the stand or will the likes of Nico Oreilly and Khusanov make way

He also doubled down on the squad is too big message and that players will have to accept limited gametime

Over the next couple of weeks, we’ll find out who that message is aimed at
