Wayne Rooney

I don't think anyone else will be stupid enough to give him a job as manager, so we are probably stuck with him as a pundit.

In a sea of shit pundits he's one fo the worst. Dreadful.
I've just posted on another thread, compared to the insightful Izzy on Sky tonight, he's thick as pig shit.

He even said "the 3 promoted clubs coming up" at one point, yes wayne, that's the whole point of promotion.

Izzy is a very articulate & intelligent pundit. Rooney’s not fit to lace her boots. Neither is Spitty the dipper

as I said above all the highlights are on the iPlayer from 8pm and also on the 5Live app they now have 5Live Sports plus Sports Xtra 1,2,&3 to give audio cover. Plus you can get stuff free and easy on YT, X and so on. Would be interested to see how long Rooneys contract is coz its smacks of the BBC engineering falling viewing figures in order to cancel the show.
The BBC has been systematically dismantled from within over last 10-15 years. This is another example

The senior management tried to kill it via Lineker hate but he just went elsewhere for more money so now its trash it, undermine it from within then kill it. Remind me who appointed most of the senior management team again.

The Italian fans ...who watched him play.loved him.

I think they appreciated the grit and determination of a man who battled back from a career threatening knee injury.Italian fans do not idolize" complete failures"
Many top footballers do not come back from such serious knee injuries.Colin Bell and Paul Lake spring to mind...

To switch countries and to have whole stadium chanting your name...is quite an achievement, imo

Did he win much ..no.
Did " Gazza Gascgoine" as the Italian Lazio fans christened him love him..yes.

Looking back at his time in Italy there are a lack of title wins.amd further injury problems.

But when an entire arena is singing the name of a foreign player with the balls to try football in their country, that's not a complete failure pal.

By comparison, look back at Uwe Roslers career at City after leaving Dresden
I remember being at Hillsborough last day of the season and we sang his name loud and proud ALL MATCH.....would you say Roslers City career was a " total failure " because he didn't win anything?

Gazza was one of the best Midfield players I've ever seen play the game and the entertainment he brought me when playing ,for whichever club, including England will never be forgotten.

It's easy to sit on the Internet and lazily look back and say complete failure...
Instead....perhaps feel the heat the noise and the passion when fans show their love for a player with guts.
Have you ever gone to a different country and made an impression ?
He played 43 league games, 47 games in total for Lazio, of course he failed

He failed in your eyes....
The fans loved him, and Gazza himself earned top money out in Italy.
I don't call that complete failure pal.
As I said before......have you gone to a different country and made an impression?
who are you to Judge?

This is the complete failure .. just back from a broken knee
Moves to another country ...playing an entirely different game of football, steeped in heavy Tactical defensive dogma.... completely different to the basic 442 English football of the time.
Watch the footage ...and then tell me he was a" complete failure" in Italy.
Gazza was Dynamite and the fans loved him.they payed their money to watch him play.

Can't wait for ten years time when he retires as lead presenter and is replaced by MUFC legends such as Harry Maguire and Toby Collyer - As said by many, had he not played for that shitstain of a club he wouldn't be anywhere near visual media channels, or audio tbf! Hired by Salford rag fanboys

Another manager / coach failure being employed, at great expense to the tax players, to give their “expert” views on football He will pontificate on managers who have achieved far more then he ever has
At some point it will be Pep ..............imagine that day when one of the greatest managers in living memory is being told what to do by someone who caused big damage at the 3 english clubs he managed :)

He failed as a player, who is anyone to judge but we all do, in every post on this board .
It's ok for us to disagree with each other ha

MotD has been going through the motions for the past 10 years or so. It was the jewel in the crown of the BBC's sports coverage back in the 60's, but it hasn't moved with the times. It hasn't adapted to the 21st century and as a result it is now a tired and stale shadow of what it once was.
If you watch it now it might just as well have Jimmy Hill presenting it, John Motson commentating and Alan Mullery as a studio guest. The games themselves will look different, and the visuals will have improved with digital camera work and computerised editing, but aside from that it could still be 1970 as far as the program itself goes.
The nail in the coffin for me is having that bloated, inarticulate oaf sitting there in the studio trying to fool the viewers into thinking he is not an Alan Partridge parody. Crash and burn TV at its most toe-curling cringiest.

He should not be on national TV on a Saturday evening, sitting there looking like the slow-witted moron from school who doesn't understand that repeatedly soiling your underwear is not an achievement, it is not a party piece with which to impress people. He should be at home with one of his wives (Ann Boleyn, Catherine Parr, whichever) feasting on succulent venison and goblets of wine, whilst the jesters entertain and the wenches, with their heaving bosoms, sing heartily along with the court minstrels.
