82 | Rico Lewis - 2025/26

Leave City and got to Forrest after starting the first game of the season seems like madness to me - Forrest(or an equivalent) will be there in 12 months. He shouldn’t rush into going there. He’ll get plenty of games for us this season. But if he doesn’t, go in 12 months. I don’t see what he gains by going now

Id like him to stay but if he's being promised regular game time in their midfield in a world cup year that could be enticing.

He played very well yesterday.
He only made 1 mistake.
It would have to be a very good offer from Forest to get Rico in my opinion, with another sell on and buy back clause in the future.
And that’s if City want to sell Rico, which I’m not sure about.
Rico and the other players looked very happy together yesterday.

Great mobility and very good awareness in possession. We should keep him if we can and he will only get better. Remember the standard of the premier league is the highest in the world and to be trusted by Pep to get this many appearances shows he’s got what it takes.

Rico and Scar Boob were great together yesterday.

They were a fantastic and young City youth right side.

Neither Stones nor Akanji have the attacking intelligence to come anywhere near Rico in the inverted role.

Too many aren't respecting his intelligence :p

Stones was crucial in treble season and if that isn't enough, then what the hell Rico has done so far with his intelligence to make us believe that Stones comes nowhere near to that :D

Come on, Akanji I can swallow, but comparing to Stones is blasphemy...

Johny's 1 treble season > Rico's whole career from the beginning to the end and you know that's true :D

I understand his age. If you look it other way, if he stays and develops into decent player he will be in his prime in few years. You’ll have TAA case by then. He will be looking for new motivation somewhere else. Are we developing the players for other teams in our first team squad? I am referring to your age comment.

And I am asking: is he good enough to stop world class wingers?
No he isn’t. We need strong and quick RB asap.

Rico can be the cover or try other position but I find it nothing more than overthinking brain fart in the situation with, Tijjani, Nico, Nico, Gundo we have in midfield.
That makes more sense, but I think some are too bothered about him stopping top wingers.

Firstly we don't come up against that many. Secondly, we could use a different system in those games.

When he plays there for us he's basically an extra player, which helps us dominate.

He’s played over 50 times for the first team, so it’s not like he’s some inexperienced 20 year old though, who’s not had plenty of opportunities or who supporters haven’t seen plenty of or been able to form a view on. Thats the point. It’s also the point that some of the criticisms supporters make of him aren’t things that are gonna change with age. You’ll find the number of times I’ve (or anyone else) has referenced the Bellingham “joke” is infinitely less than the number of times his age has been mentioned. I think I’ve mentioned it approx twice. Go and have a look how often Rico’s age gets quoted. He’s 21 in November by the way.
I dont know ahy detractors or supporter's quite gis agr. He is fantastic for any age. Like ive been pointing out for years now, he is 1000 times more switched on than Kyle Walker has ever been on offsides. Kyle has been playing RB for as long as Rico has been alive. So it has nothing to do with age he is just a far better tactical player and reads the game at a higher clip than most footballers do.
