Yeah you are right about Potter.

Not sure the example of Lampard is relevant - he tried to go to high too soon in his managerial career. His decision to manage Chelsea was clearly one led by emotion and not experience or ability and they never end well.

Spurs will be at least be more organised and wont play that suicidal high line they did under their previous manager. who was so stubborn to a point of damaging his own reputation
My point was that Lampard was very good at a smaller club, like Frank at Brentford. When he went to bigger clubs, driven by emotion or not, he wasn't up to the job. Will Frank be at Spurs? Only time will tell.

After today’s showing, I can’t see anything but a significant City win. We are back. The so called blip was probably needed after untold dominance and success, which is impossible to maintain at such a level.

3-1 City.

Chaz and Dave cunts!
So called blip. I know what you are saying. Any other team that would be a fantastic season. Shows how far we have come. Shows the standards we set. We are still the team every one wants to beat.

This could be a tricky game.

Spurs are already playing better than last season.

It certainly isn’t going to be an easy game.

There is a possibility of a potentially upset.

City need to be on top of their game.

I guess the line up depends on whether Rodri or Gvardiol are fit. Unfortunately I’m assuming we’ll still be without Rodders, so this is the team I’d like to see.

………………..Trafford
Nunes….Stones……Gvardiol….Ait-Nouri
……………..Gonzalez
Bobb……Reijnders….Cherki…Marmoush
……………..Haaland

First home game of the season, and we owe these bastards, get all our best attackers in and fucking smash these with pace and power!
Rodri hopefully on the bench and gets a few minutes to start his renaissance

We were awful last season.

Just stall on the Sav sale so he can't play (to be on the safe side).

We're due to give these fuckers a good seeing to.

Clears throat....Have you ever seen Tottenham win the league....
Remember Savs first few games with us " what a player we've got etc" fast forward 10 months! ..its way too early to be talking about our debutants like we did Sav..but many are ...including pundits..wait till March i say. If debutants form drops and Bobb starts to struggle we will need Sav

Didn't we just win 4-0 by not doing that?
Pep said he wasn't happy with the 2nd half and it's not difficult to see why. We lost control and had 35% possession 15 minutes into the 2nd half, which is poor vs a relegation candidate...

Normally, we defend by forcing the opposition to defend and winning the ball back quickly after losing it. That will never change as long as Pep is here. And rightly so.

The problem is that Sav has not improved despite being coached. He doesn’t look up before crossing. It’s a fatal flaw. Pace is not enough.

IIRC, Savinho was our top assistant in the league. His problem isn't crossing but shooting. Had he added 6-7 goals to his 7-8 assists, that would have been an excellent return, given his age.

I know, which is why I was so hacked with our performances last year. Take out our shytee form in the autumn, but in the old format we would have got through probably as 2nd in group.

I'm expecting another lousy set of 8 fixtures for us this time, with the very tricky away games timed to chime when we have some very difficult away PL fixtures in the 3 days following.

I hope we do meet them again and karma to that 2019 cl quarter final robbery/ aka reffing/VAR corruption that took place to deny us a semi final place.
I still can still taste the disappointmet of that night and Aguero’s disallowed goal

Trafford
Nunes Dias Stones Ait-Nouri
Reijnders Nico G
Bobb Bernardo Marmoush
Haaland

Still bitter after last year, let’s fucking thump them!!

Kick off time 12:30 (BST).

Lets get it out of the way, 3 points to Spurs and move onto Brighton.

Serious note probably only change Doku but up against Porro he might stick with him. How often does Pep go unchanged though? Maybe bring Nunes in?

Looking forward to it, hoping for a good atmosphere.

---------------Trafford
Nunes--Stones--Dias--Ait-Nouri
--Bernardo--Nico G--Reijnders
Bobb-------Haaland----Marmoush
Whilst Rico generally plays well against teams that don't offer a physical, pacy threat down our left, he's probably not strong enough against spuds and Nunes was (not for the first time) very sloppy when he came on yesterday - he's not good enough to feature against the top teams. I would try to develop Khusanov as a RB if we're not going to buy one - he has pace, strength / aggression and could be part of a very strong back four / three.
