Savinho | City reject Spurs approach

As Big Steve said in his recent video, there's no way we score that second goal with Savinho and no Bobb in the team. If Savinho leaving means Bobb gets more gametime then that's good for me as it means we will score more goals.

I don't want players playing for us that don't want to be here. First mention of a pay rise and more game time he wants to go, don't want players with that mentality at our club.

I don’t get the comments in here being critical of Savinho. You’d think he’s pulled an Isak the way some people are talking.

So what if he’s had his head turned by what Spurs have offered. A huge pay rise and guaranteed regular football is an attractive proposition.

So long as he acts professional and works hard when he plays he should have all our support.

It wouldn’t though if Savinho is replaced by Rodrygo. If Savinho wasn’t replaced then yes Bobb will play more.Bobb is likely to get more games with Savinho in the squad than Rodrygo though I’d guess.

I was just expressing the view that it might be best if he left due to given circumstances. If he stays I do of course hope that things work out for him and the club. I don't think this case and the situation in the past regarding Bernardo can be considered directly comparable.
The only important thing for me is having the optimal balance of squad. We don’t need both Kovacic and Gundogan this season and we don’t need all three of Akanji, Ake, and Stones. Losing two from the orange now would give us better balance this season, and, knowing that the green would leave next summer, we’d be taking a step to accelerating the rebuild. Savinho has room for improvement, they all do, but we need such a winger and have a year invested in him.

The comparable part between the two cases is that once news of a potential move appears, it’s always interpreted as the player angling for a move away. It could just as well be the club that instigated it.

Yes fair enough I did miss the if, but I’m entirely happy letting Pep and The club decide from the facts, rather than making any judgement based off media and mainly twitter like one or two seem to be. Plus you’d think if any bridges had been burnt we’d have negotiated on the fee to get rid, while we seem to have stuck firm to our asking price, and are comfortable about not selling.

Fair response.

If we are not selling then I think the player needs to get his head down and prove that he is worth keeping.

I personally hope that we are simply trying to get more out of that **** Levy

You think he’s the only player in our squad that if offered a big pay rise and more game time who would be open to it or consider it. Doubt that, didn’t Lewis just do that very thing?

"No way our top assister last year makes an assist" is a wild shout.

Bobb had a great game, like Doku and Savio have individually had great games. It's a game of depth anyway Bobb + Savinho is better than Bobb alone. No performance from any of the 3 is really ammo to have a go at the other 2.

Are Chelsea still waiting Palmer to become a great player?

Nobody can be sure whether and when a given player will become a top player. Even the best in the game can't be sure about that, let alone random people on the net.
Palmer already took off. Savinho can't score a goal to save his life, as a winger.

What do you mean? Palmer has already proven himself to be a great player, and I think he turned into a world class player in the CWC final.
