It'll be those two if everything goes through.

For future reference. Viana is very close to Mendes, who in turn, is close to Romano.

Pini Zahavi and Joorabachian are in with Mendes and have been brought in to help broker Rodrygo.

Romano now has City boxed off.
I know this is the Ederson thread but just on your final point here @tolmie's hairdoo should we read anything into the fact that all the stories about the Savinho deal being off seem to be coming from one quote from Balague who got info from ‘sources’ in Brazil whilst the likes of Romano and Ornstein have remained noticeably silent?

Still not seeing a thing from City's end to even remotely suggest any of this is happening.
This is still very obviously nowhere as advanced as some people insisted last week.

I still think Eddie will leave, but it clearly wasn't "ready to go in 24 hours" last week was it.

Nothing is obvious. The football media are reporting that Ederson has agreed terms with Gala and that Gala have made an offer to City that is short of our valuation. It is also reported that Donnarumma's personal terms will not be an issue. That would meet my definition of advanced. That City haven't pressed 'Go' suggests to me that there might be some doubt on the footballing basis of Ederson out - Donnarumma in. The finances don't seem problematic, therefore it follows that there might be a more fundamental question. City fans are after all in 2 minds.

Sky saying Galatasaray have just put a 17m bid in for Costa….. 1) that seems cheap 2) if they do sign him then eddie stays

Think we’re entering the period of chicken. Clubs are seeing who blinks first - just look at Isak, Guehi, etc. Think there’ll be a lot of movement in the final days - hopefully includes a few of ours exiting.

If the rumour of us asking 25m euros is true then he isnt going is he?

I think we are using '25mil' just to drive the price. We know they want him but are being stingy so we are making it look like there's a big difference which will make them do another better offer (which is actually fair) and then we'll accept it.

Not one bit he looked less and less interested as the season went on last year. I never bought his comments at the CWC either
Tbf that's all the concrete evidence we have to go off. He's not come out and said he wants out only that he's staying!! Everything else has been from journos

Considering Manchester City conceded 44 goals in the Premier League last season - the most in a season since 2009-10 - it would be reasonable to think that Ederson himself didn't have a great campaign in terms of shot-stopping.

His save percentage would certainly suggest that, ranking 13th out of the 26 goalkeepers that played at least 10 games in 2024-25.

Note - Flekken and Sels' high save percentage numbers were helped by the fact they had the 'easiest' shots to save on average

But judging a keeper's shot-stopping purely by his save percentage doesn't take into account the quality of shots that he specifically faced, since not all shots are equal.

It's a bit like being a judge at a cooking contest and not considering the quality of ingredients each chef is working with when deciding who made the tastiest meal (this is also why 'shot conversion rate' doesn't tell us who's the best finisher).

The reason why that is so important for Ederson in particular is because although he had one of the quietest shifts in goal last season since City didn't give up many chances, he had the toughest in terms of shot-stopping as the former champions gave up higher-quality shots than any other team in the league.

When taking that into account, only Jordan Pickford of Everton was a better shot-stopper than Ederson in the Premier League last season, with the Brazilian preventing five goals more than expected from hitting the back of the net.

8 million pounds transfer fee My Arse!!!

I really dont see Eddie being happy at staying to be honest.

I don't but I am guessing Galatasaray have took the biscuit too much with City and lowballed us so low that we have made out stance clear.

I think the same has happened with Savio.

I think we have set out price, if you want the players then pay up. We will not be held to ransom in any way.

Those days have gone.

City can afford to write off a £70m offer for Savio and make a stand.

If the plan was to sign Donnarumma on a free next year. What happens now he’s an outcast at PSG. Ederson staying puts a spanner in that plan, he has to go.

Donnarumma will 100% move this window.

He is too high profile to be a bench player for PSG, especially as he is likely to make the FIFPRO World XI and be crowned best GK in the world.

If he doesn't sign for us I think United loan him.

United would sign him tomorrow if he wasn't £40-£50m and £300k a week. They can only afford a loan fee and his current wages.

They can’t united need to get rid of Onana. To sign any keeper according to their journalists.

That’s why they haven’t signed one this whole window, Onana needs to leave for them to get a new keeper in but no one wants him.
