Big big season ahead for Phil. The drop off in reputation alone from being Player of the season, to what it is now is massive. I don’t even think most people will have him as a top 15 PL player in the league (if we include all teams every position) Foden has the ability and potential to be a legend of the game like Rivelino or a Rivaldo that’s how great I believe he can be, but he can’t have another shite season, especially not in this era

Bit harsh after his star turn in CWC. Disappointed he wasn’t on bench tonight but hopefully he’ll be back soon, positive he was in training and travelling but no need to risk it if he’s not 100% with the squad we’ve got. He’s going to have to play his way in though but healthy competition never a bad thing.
 
Reijnders and Cherki are cooking.

He has good competition there for the 8/10/false 9 positions.

I feel Pep is just easing him in, but he needs to start delivering cos Bobb, Cherki, Marmoush and Reijnders ain’t fucking about this season. It’s one of those seasons like we used to have from 2017-2023 if you get your chance, you better take it or you’re gonna be left behind

Bobb's had one excellent game after being out for a year, Cherki is brand new and doesn't defend - think we'll only really see him at 10, Reijnders is absolute quality but should play deeper and Marmoush has never really touched Foden's highest level.

Still think Foden needs all the runway to get back to the POTY level, giving up on him in any less than 2 years with the age he is would be such a mistake.

I wouldn’t mind Foden playing where Doku did yesterday to allow Reijnders and Cherki to play in the middle.

In the 2021-22 season, I thought there was only Mbappe in world football better on the left wing that Foden.

Yeah, that’s true. Only difference was he was much quicker back then so didn’t have to always come inside. If he gets over his injuries that might come back but we’ll have to wait and see
