Rodrygo

You have to question why Real Madrid are so willing to let him go, they might lose players who then develop into stars but they dont often let players at the top of their game go. They dont even have an abundance of options either so there has to be questions asked there.

Fair point. City and Real Madrid are similar in that respect. Both hold onto their best players until they can't really cut it anymore.

That's the exact point I made with the rags signed Casimero. He was only 28 or 29 . Real Madrid aren't selling their 29 year old midfielder starters unless they're really on the slide or think they won't be missed

He was 31 and visibly in decline. Despite that he had one decent season left in him.

Rodrygo is 24 and are only going to be let go because they have invested a lot of money and time into to egomaniacs that both need to play in his best position.

....only takes a nano second of thinking about....he's a decent player, but miles from anything special.

Sorry 31. Even so, the rags thought they were getting a player with plenty left, as players today should have at 31. Madrid knew he was done.

Yes Rodrygo isn't finished, that's why I said "or players they think won't be missed.

Egomaniacs of not, they're still being preferred by the club if they're putting that much money into them . They clearly don't see him as a vital player .plenty of our fans don't rate him either.

I happen to think he's good. I would take him at city but I don't think he would be a huge difference maker. I think that's also how Madrid view him

Madrid aren’t arsed about losing Rodrygo because he hasn’t got any better between the ages of 21-24. He was a potentially top class winger in the making three years ago, now he’s just not kicked on. Last year was actually his worst since he was 20.

But Foden - while Foden is a much better player than Rodrygo - mirrored that, and we all hope he can get back to his best, so I’m not saying Rodrygo won’t kick on again like we are expecting Foden to… but that’s the reason Madrid are happy to lose him.

Could it be that they want to use the money to strengthen elsewhere or they think Rodrygo is blocking the route to the first team of a player with sky high potential?

They have enough depth imo.

Vini, Mbappe, Garcia, Brahim, Mastantuono all play in the front 3.

I think the problem is he isn't necessary and that's why he wants to leave.

Mbappe ruined the Vinicious/ Rodrygo synergy that worked well for them before he came in.

One of them was always going to have to be sacrificed once Mbappe came in because they are all very similar and want to occupy each others spaces.

Please see his numbers again.. Rodrygo significantly improved from 3 years ago, both in goals and assists.

Doesn't fit their new system (which is inferior to their previous one that won them 2x UCLs). And probably because he's not 'flashy' enough compared to primadonnas such as Mbappe and Vinicius. He's the most humble Brazilian player so probably lacks the 'crying for a penalty' part in Madrid's view.

He is obviously a talented player. We don't have a need for him, really, but would be happy to have him on the team for the right price. If, for nothing else, to keep him from scoring 2 goals in 60 seconds against us again....

I've never seen Soriano mentioned except posters here guessing.

I've seen it mentioned online by non City sources (for what it's worth) and the Akanji episode certainly looks like Viana may have a slightly more Billions approach to recruitment that his predecessor

Those cunts just tap everybody up and dont buy anyone, don't think they're struggling for money. Who is he blocking the route of? He isnt getting much football right now anyway.

That's not a lot or great depth, ours is bigger and better. If Madrid don't need him, why would we?

This is mostly just forum chatter, Alonso and Madrid arent daft. They aren't going to be willing to get rid of a supposed top player simply because he isnt enough of a star name. If he's truly valued at around the £100m mark, you make room in the side for him.

Madrid just don't let star players at the correct age go, we all say the same thing when somebody else signs a Madrid player so there has to be the same questions raised when we are reportedly interested. Hope we steer clear.
