Arsenal thread | 2025/26

Eze is a brilliant signing tbf. Once again I just can’t think of anything worse than being a spurs fan. Brutal

Looks like the Havertz injury has screwed Spurs, Arsenal now favourites for Eze.
Arteta's head needed testing for signing Madueke ahead of Eze in the 1st place.

We get Eze and we're finishing ahead of the Dippers. Just you lot to worry about now!

Its between us and Arsenal. We both have better attacking depth than pool. They addressed their weaknesses now and its going to be super competitive

Tbf they need to protect Saka. He can’t play every game and they will want to go deep in all comps.

Madueke though and for £55m, bizarre signing for me. You can get a Saka understudy for less than that.

Do Arsenal spend £55m on an understudy? I think they plan to start him at some point to be honest.

Eze is overrated imo. He's not elite but he is a match winner against inferior opposition, capable of breaking down defences when the gameplan isnt working. That's an important piece to have, we have doku and now cherki for that kind if game and they'll have Eze.

Also just seen this. In 10 years time theyll all be talking about the day Zubimendi managed 42 passes on his debut.

I said this before the season started on this forum. Everyone twerking for Liverpool - their proper points tally is mid 80s. Both City and Arsenal score higher but both had a bad season last year.

Arsenal have strengthened and maintained their core strength (defence) so logically Arsenal resume their expected points tally of high 80s. Then over to City - the question was have they replaced the gap left by KDB (plus have Rodri coming back). The answer is probably yes - City's defence isn't as strong as it has been but if Stones remains injury free and Rodri comes back like the Ballon D'or Rodri that provides cover for the defence and a formidable midfield forcefield. But either way they get more points than the Dippers who will revert to their 'normal' 3rd place.

So it then depends on the new signings from both Arsenal and City. 1 match is too early to tell but early signs from City is that the new signings look fantastic. So it'll end up a battle between a free-flowing City who might ship a few goals in the process and a dogged Arsenal defensive unit who have strengthened up front but regardless won't score the same number of goals as City but will probably concede fewer as well.
