The question is why? Ederson is out of contract in 12 months, he can speak to clubs outside of England in January about a contract.

If you want to believe by Tolmie hes already said his goodbyes and his head is on leaving. Why would you keep a keeper that is already half way out the door. Just doesn't make sense. Especially if you keep him first choice.

We can guess but we do not have enough information. What is certain is that top professionals take decisions. Fans are not supposed to understand everything. Otherwise, professionals would be redundant.

If Pep prefers Ederson to stay, one can be sure he has good reasons.

This is such a disingenuous dismissal that's been used constantly in this transfer saga. There are well known deficiencies in his game even without the much discussed ability with his feet. Yes, he is one of the best in the world. But he's not the clear candidate for that title by any means.

Also, I'm not the poster you're responding to, but no, I don't always want the best player in the world. I want the best player for City and I'm not sure he is that. Also, I'm the sort of fan who would always prefer a local player given a run, and failing that, an academy product. Yeah there's a higher degree of patience needed with academy players, but its more exciting to me when we have those players in the side.

I know these days instant gratification and shiney new toys and fifa ratings are trendy.

Something is happening. Thinks it’s whether PSG reduced their asking price (reportedly 50m) before the window shuts. If they don’t we may switch to other targets.

100% this. Said the dame a couple weeks ago. If City wanted this change, they would accept a lower fee for ederson, and get the business done. We have seen them do this on so many occasions. The fact they are haopy to hold out for a fee they see as worthwhile, means they are happy to not let the player go unless it is for a few that is right for the club.

Same with Savinho, while we are at it.

Makes perfect sense to me.

What is being offered for him is not worth letting him go for. If that means getting nothing for him next season, so be it, still worth more now him being here a year than the money.

Buys Trafford time to be tested and find his feet, and revisit next year. They must be comfortable that he is going to be professional and a grown-up if he stays, and see his last year out and play the best he can. After all, his next move and wages/bonus will depend on it.

Just because Donnarumma is also available, doesn't mean the club has to change plans. They could, but they seem to be using that more as the back-up, than the target. So really, it is over to Galatasaray. If they want to price themselves out of the move, their choice.

Might be 'unfair' on Donnarumma, but that's football in many ways. If someone else comes on for him and he fancies it and goes, all that means is the club will then shut down any offers for Eddie and keep him, and Galatasaray would have timed themselves out of a move.

You could well be right, all the evidence seems to be pointing that way as it stands. Hope The Don flows past us for Traffs sake but ....

Sometimes as a keeper you don't need to be busy to have a good game. Having good communication with your defenders is essential.
 
The win at Molineux saw former Academy player James Trafford make his City debut with Ederson ruled out through illness.

Guardiola confirmed said that the Brazilian is fit to play and he will make a decision on who will take the gloves after training.
