Somewhere talking sensible nonsense ; )
Reading a thread about Leeds fans from @Tim of the Oak brought back memories of when a mate and I robbed an ice cream van when we were about 14 years old. We'd had a belly full and still had two carrier bags full so we sat on a hill near Stalybridge train station waiting for Leeds fans on the football special.

When the train arrived we launched teddy bear lollies, screwballs and everything in the bag giving them several V-signs. We didn't break any windows but the windows sure needed cleaning : ) I know I shouldn't have done but not nicked anything since.

What have you robbed that you remember? I won't judge, even if others do. Most of us have stolen something if we're being honest.

We're all law abiding citizens on here.*

If you'd posted this on RAWK....

*Bullshit

The first thing I ever robbed was a stick of chapstick from a pharmacy when I was with my mum and dad somewhere. Don't remember taking it, but remember pulling it out of my pocket at home and my Dad 'phoning' the police to grass on me.

A set of temporary traffic lights as well. Was gonna try and use them as disco lights, but no way of plugging them in once we'd carried them all across town avoiding the police. Might still be in my mate's garage.
Remember getting shit off a few people who were at that party the next week who spent hours on the 400 to Oldham stuck in traffic.

Went for a week in Crete on my own in 2001 for a bit of a “retreat” . It was a few weeks after the Twin Towers were brought down and people wouldn’t fly so package holidays were dead cheap on Teletext - a week in Crete for £112.

First day it was a bit of a trek to the shops (supermarket to get the beers) and on the way back there was an old looking bicycle left by a lamp post. I used it the whole week to get to and from the hotel to the supermarket and beach. On the last day I put it back by the same lamp post!

As a teenager one new years eve, my mate and I tried to carry a pool table out of a pub (Roe Cross Mottram Road if memory serves). Landlord was very polite and asked us to put it back, which we did

Around the same time, pub in Ashton went upmarket and had nice pictures on the wall, mate quite liked one so I carried it out under my denim jacket. Think he's still got it

My greatest was a football from Vienna, the day before our Final in the European Cup Winners Cup. I won`t bore you all too much as quite a few of you know, me and my mate hitchhiked it all the way there and back and we slept in the stadium for two nights.
We found out where the City team were staying, way up in the mountains and got a taxi to the hotel.I asked if I could talk to Glyn Pardoe, as Glyn used to take me to some City home games when I was 13 years of age.
To cut a long story short, we were invited down to the training ground by non other than Joe Mercer, so we travelled on the team bus and watched them for a good hour.
Somehow one of the training balls came our way and me and my mate had a kick about. It somehow made its way back to Mid Cheshire with me and we used it virtually every Sunday afternoon on our local rec for about 4 years before it became absolutely knackered.
True story as it can be confirmed by those of you who have read the book by Don Price "We Never Win Away ..." and my story is related on page 81 Chapter 9 Vienna Cup Final 1970.
As the great old song goes "Memories Are Made Of This". ;)

I'm leaning on a lamp post on a corner somewhere in Crete waiting for a bike to rob and ride to the beach, to try. Oh me, oh my.... ; )
