It's either Pep has called this all wrong or Frank has set Spurs up in a way nobody could have anticipated.

They're pressing us high up the pitch and they're targeting Trafford who can't play out from the back yet. You can tell Stones and Dias especially don't have faith him yet. That's where the second goal comes from.

But that's just an error. It happens. Maybe those people kicking Ederson out the door should sit down and appreciate what we've had for the last few years and how much we take his skills for granted. I'm fine to go into the season with Trafford and Ortega but the glee with which Ederson's prospective departure is being received has only been exposed as incredibly ungrateful by that half.

Where we're losing the game is in the middle. We've not had a proper period of sustained pressure at any point in the game because there's nobody marshalling. Gonzalez is fine but we need someone else running and scrapping for the team. There's nobody in there who's willing to take responsibility for everyone else so we're getting done on physical duels. That's Bernardo and he needs to come on for Bobb.

Move Cherki wide and Reijnders forward. Give Dias less to do, who's having to cover behind Reijnders because Reijnders doesn't do anything defensively - which we already knew before the season started.

It should be said, Marmoush and Haaland have been poor in front of goal. No reason why Haaland missed that header beyond it just being terrible, terrible execution. We've had more shots than Spurs and more shots on target but our finishing has been underwhelming.

We can still come back and win this but not with that XI. Pep's picked the wrong team for this kind of game, which is fine, but he needs to react quickly by changing it at half-time.

Trafford obviously at fault but he is new in a team and a more senior player is clearly telling him to give him the ball. He'll learn a lesson from it
He's a big boy now he doesn't need someone to hold his hand, he should have went long.

Sunday league stuff that decision he has made, He's the keeper he was in control and fucked up. He needs to take it on the chin and learn from it.

Although. I doubt he'll get very little time to learn as I reckon Donnarumma will be in nets next week.

Fucking awful. Gifting chances. Trafford? on dear lad , Ederson he isn't and that's on Pep if he is on the bench. Midfield totally disjointed and why are allowing the ball to bounce so much? C'mon City ffs!

No homework needed anymore.

We are limited going forwards and weak in defence. Aggressive press kills us everytime because we lack the composure of previous squads.

Maybe it will come good. But, I doubt it.
My thoughts too. Franck does it every time, I voiced my concerns pre match and it looks like my nightmare of us losing 1-5 could happen.

I hope not but there is a hoodoo curse over us when we play this dreadful club.

Such a weak first half performance, players looking shit scared all over the pitch and seemingly not knowing what position they're supposed to be playing in

The mistake from Trafford was just going for completely the wrong option......should never gave it to Nico with a player up his arse.

I'm 100% sure Ederson has done exactly the same in the past.

Dare I say it, but we missed Bernardo in midfield in that half, let alone Rodri.

Nowhere near enough big players in that team, we need leaders.
Not sure it would have made a difference. Spurs have just been defensively sound in their game plan. And we've struggled to break their press consistently

OK three quick subs - Rodri, Bernie & Doku for Gonzales, Lewis & Bobb. If that doesn't work Foden on for Marmoush and Eddy will have to do a Donnarumma goodbye.
On today's showing Lewis and Bobb need to bulk/strengthen up.
In the case of Lewis, much as I love academy players, he needs to be on the bench.
Think we've started to many new players at once today, I'd have had Bernie in there again but I don't pick the team (for obvious reasons)

There is no cohesion with the team. Trying to play out ends in Trafford smashing it long to them. Can’t build or sustain attacks. When Trafford does try and play gives them a goal. Just highlights how crucial ederson has been and what we will be missing should he leave.

Don’t blame Trafford either. He is a kid being asked to do something he clearly can’t do.

Nico g and reijnders being overrun in midfield. Cherki showing his inexperience.

Need Bernardo and Rodri on for cherki and Nico.

Gonna need big players to step up
Agreed. Trafford is too young for a big club. Pep should’ve known that! We need to sort this goalkeeping out.

Wasn't great that, second goal was under 9s stuff

Spurs just look better organised than us.

Struggled playing out all half yet continued until the inevitable gift. I have no idea what's wrong with going long into Haaland, if you get Marmoush, Bobb and Cherki close to him.

One the plus side, Trafford wont be trying to play balls like that again in the future , harsh lesson learnt early
Really really shouldn’t have been needed though.

It’s got to have been drummed into his brain since he signed ‘Be yourself, we don’t need you to be Ederson’

It was a ridiculous decision and he will need big cojones to shake that off.

Cherki is a talent but he is no KDB. Rico small size is no excuse for not being a good defender, remeber Zabaleta. Trafford, this is Man City not Burnley so level up please. Title competitiors have Salah and Saka at RW and we have Bobb. Rodri please stay fit for rest of the season. Pep sort it out plz

ABDUKODIR the only one with pace is on the bench
