Bench player is bench player because he lacks qualities regular starter needs, but that doesn't mean he is useless or doesn't have certain skills at a very top level, but like Rodri and Nico differ or Foden and Cherki or Ederson and Trafford, that's the difference between the pro, elite level player and bench ones..

We are being bullied because let's face it we have too many flair players in the team and no grit, I didn't see but I'm guessing everyone was buzzing with peps selection before the game, Tottenham have a lot of gritty grafters in their team and we don't, it's great when the flair works but we are seeing what happens when it dosent

Aye, Cherki has shown so far that's he an impact substitute, both for us and France. His first international game, he came on and ran the show. His second, he started, and was largely anonymous. Or if you're going to start him, perhaps coming in from a wider position, so we're not relying on him too much physically.

He will be just like Doku in that respect.

Comes on as sub, changes a game, so you play him, then he's poor for 5 games, then back on the bench…repeat.
