Spurs (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

I feel bad for Lewis and Trafford. Can't believe Marmoush missed 2 sitters. Also, why do our players run like they are 45 year olds with back pain??

Watched the game in a bar in Fuerteventura with the City missus. Think we were the only City supporters & we were completely surrounded by spuds fans.
It was pretty bad.

We are simply not a great team anymore. Our era of dominance is over. It happens to them all eventually. Liverpool and United dominated eras but it doesn't last forever. Now it's our turn for it to come to an end.

No killer instinct anymore either. 3 years ago I'd fully expect us to get something from a losing position, just because of the killer mentality we had. We no longer have it. Players are laughing and smiling on the bench or having craic with opposing subs while we're losing.

The city era is over. Frustrating times ahead.
Back to supporting the dippers for me if it carries on like this.

Bernardo came on and put in a generational shocking performance even after last season. The new players were anonymous. Reijnders seems a meh player, after all McTominay was player of the season at Serie A. Nico Gonzalez is just clueless and a huge mistake. Marmoush can’t keep a ball. Cherki wasn’t even on the pitch. We NEEDED a rebuild and ended with a half arsed attempt and kept most of horrendously shit players. Rico Lewis showed why his level is Wolves.
Lazy lot springs to mind re our new signings. How many of them are going to fight when the chips are down?

We are an 'away-win' team these days.

At home we can't break down a packed defense team utilising an aggressive counter press.

Away from home we have more freedom and space. The opponents, on the whole, play more attack minded.

So, Pep.... I'm talking directly to you now... use the squad and change your tactics to suit the opponent and stadium, like what you used to do.

Wouldn't be that pessimistic. If Pep has it in him to see the problems then it'll work out fine.

Major concerns all over the pitch after that shite. Trafford absolutely garbage can't be our number 1, defence simply not strong enough against the better sides( yeah Spurs I know), full backs woeful. Midfield looked like they were running through treacle, and Haaland up front having one of his really shit days.
Pep shouldn't have changed it from Wolves, but he has to every week doesn't he?
He changed two players, but the tactics were chalk and cheese. Spurs saw how we played against wolves and adapted. It seems our coaching team decide not to watch spurs at all.

We looked like an unfit team, weak both physically and athletically. Even on a half-inch missed pass, our players couldn’t move their legs to react, and every movement was at a snail’s pace. Meanwhile, every Spud seemed able to run, press all day, and cover the whole pitch with ease.

Just got man handled by the Spurs midfield we need Rodri back but Nico and Reijnders will need to get up to tempo aswell. Defending was shite, unlucky to lose Ait-Nouri but I wouldn't mind a Nunes-Khushanov-Josko-O'Reilly total switch for next game.

After the lord mayors show and a harsh reality check. I think Pep has learnt a few things from today's performance. Some players are squad players at best and I'm sorry but it's Ederson or we sign Donnarumma, Trafford is a number two at best.
Too many players dawdling on the ball, sloppy passing and easily outmuscled. Some of it is probably understandable as some are new to this league. I fear it could be a long season.
