82 | Rico Lewis - 2025/26

A good RB clears the ball leading up to the second goal , towards the end of the game , he looked league 1 level . He should have been sold when a better player like MCtee have been sold

As I’ve said many times, we can say goodbye to competing at the top level with this guy as a mainstay in the side.
Yep. I’ve said it time and time again, if he is playing week in, week out, we are in the shit. Reading some of the comments on here over the past week has been comical. He plays ok against a shite Wolves team, somehow wangles himself a new contract and you’d have thought he was the 2nd coming of Walker the things some were saying on here. Have people not worked Rico out yet? Hes ok, in a dominant team. We are no longer dominant.

Hes no fucking good. He will never be any fucking good. Players like him are what will take us from perennial winners, to meh and do so in record-quick time. New deal…fuck me.

He’s in what his third season and still can’t defend a low fucking cross. As soon as that move developed it was plain as day the outcome.

We’re in for a long season if he’s trusted to start against top 8 clubs.
He had a 15 yard head-start over Johnson and lost it over 40 yards. It shouldn’t even be physically possible.

Clean slate. Get behind the lad

4 years, 364 days, 22 hours, 30 minutes to go.

Play a high line with a kid that can’t run. He’s only going to get slower too. Absolute waste of a starting spot and causes endless problems. Zero to like.

Play the high line and also push him into advanced positions he simply doesn’t have the speed or stamina to recover from. Bad tactics made worse by the terrible footballer.

That's why I wanted Khusanov as a right-back, especially in big games. Johnson would never have been able to touch the ball for the first goal, and he'll give Ait Nouri more freedom in the offensive phase and help the attack. Unfortunately, we saw a lot of goals last season similar to today's.

Rico Lewis is very slow and doesn't have the speed Walker had to catch opposing players on the counterattack. His weak build doesn't help him with the ball or off the ball. With Ake coming on in place of Ait Nouri, the slowness of our defense was even more evident.

Just never sold on him being good enough for city. Physical shortcomings are just too much. Too slow, too short, too weak.

seen the replay on the first goal, lewis had 10 yeards on the spuds player and casually jogged back on their atrack and only sped up when he realised he was overtaken

The guy is not good enough

The irony is most of his fan boys cite his on field intelligence. I find it ironic, his game intelligence is almost as bad as his physical attributes which are pretty much non existent.

He’s nowhere near good enough to be a regular starter for a team with aspirations to win the league and CL but I don’t think they are the clubs aspirations anymore.

I've been a big defender of his, but my was he poor today.
Genuine question, why? I don’t want to be rude and criticise fans like you but you seen how in 2022/23 season as soon as he was dropped from the squad we started to win again, same thing in 2023/24, and last season. He is a direct detriment to success. Is a player making it from the academy bigger than the success of the club?
