11 | Jeremy Doku - 2025/26

Seems a likeable lad but he's just garbage. There was a moment today, I think around the 80th minute, where he received the ball wide left. Ahead of him Bernie was in a chasm of space but he just passed it back to his fullback.

We need more from our wingers. Christ what I'd give for prime Sterling and Sane.

Tbh, I'm at the point where if Savinho goes I'd be all for bringing Sterling back as a squad player. Even though he's a mile off where he was.

West Ham for in for him, but went for Kudus, who seems like a better player.

When Doku goes at the end of the season and a new shiny winger comes in and he again isn’t making an immediate impact, who will you all blame then ? It’s the coaching methods and player tactics that are lacking here, nothing else.
Yeah I agree. Doku might not be perfect, but it's clear that all our attacking players have been struggling to an extent for a while now

What's more likely? They're all rubbish, or there's something not quite right with how the team are playing?

I'll say this. Imagine if Doku were playing for Tottenham today on their left wing. He'd have torn us to shreds

So was the whole team, have you got anything to say about the tactics ?
The tactics were predictable and poor, the whole team collectively shat the bed, but if you can't see Doku is an extremely limited and average player that more often than not detracts, rather than adds, then there's no point further debate.
That's not pinning it all on him, but he is becoming a bit of a common denominator.

There seems to be more stats to the savio doku debate.

This stat he's talking about puts into words what many may have felt.

Pep is the ultimate common denominator

He was awful today, and deserves criticism for that performance. Expect more from him and expect to see more from him.

Doku is a “second 11” player for us because he just cannot influence a game over 90 minutes. It doesn’t look like he can challenge to make the LW position him so city have a big decision to make about him probably at the end of this season

Just needs filing in the same cabinet as Rico Lewis, another player that everyone seems desperate to do well, but ultimately wouldn't get into the team of anyone else who finished in the top 6 last season

Yes they're both young, but I've seen enough of both now to know that neither will ever be good enough to make a difference

It’s his third year mate. Define immediate

Actually think Sterling at least would understand what Pep wants and is halfway decent in crowded penalty areas unlike Doku.
No. Sterling has been an awful football player since about 2021, has had no confidence in his own ability since then and also seemingly doesn't care anymore.

He peaked early and is a hero for us, but bringing him back would be a clear sign that we have no plan and are heading towards being a fallen giant

Our wingers always suck. We play without attacking fullbacks on purpose. Lewis comes inside and stones + Dias can only pass forward oder to the left. No threats from outside.
