As a regular contributor to the forum, and a fan since 1968, I am looking at the forum tonight, and for large parts of last season, wondering how I can avoid becoming so utterly irritated by mindless comments. Apparently Rico is the least athletic player in the entire league, Cherki will have the flair taken from him, and Pep will ruin Omar Marmoush, just as three examples. Every single one of us feels a defeat, but does it really need to come with comments so devoid of sense or sporting insight because we didn't take away the points and have lost our heads?

Yes.

I would bunker down.

As I said in Rico's thread, negative posters are always "right" on Bluemoon regardless of whether they're correct or not - because they whine and whine and whine more positive posters into submission with complaint after complaint after complaint. They make this forum a worse place.

You can suggest something like "Lewis is a kid who needs a bit of support and maybe needs to be played in midfield for us to see the best of him", and all you get in response is about five different people shouting BUT WHO DOES LEWIS REPLACE WHO DO YOU DROP TO PLAY HIM HE'LL NEVER BE ANY GOOD WE NEED TO SELL HIM HE'S CRAP.

Can't win a debate when all some people want is an argument.

I think people are upset as a lot had thought that with the off-season and new signings, we would look better than last year, but here we are, looking even worse.

Pep is playing people out of position again and not to their strengths, so we get the Omar comments. Rico was thrown to the wolves and had a mare again at RB after we had not addressed it.

I think there's a fear that what happened to Jack will happen to Cherki.

It's fair to criticize, but it probably goes over the top.

It's been the same since time (or the Internet, at least) began. You are not going to get bags of civility and rationality on the day of a defeat, not least one at home to Spurs. I'd actually say a lot of people come here in such circumstances because it serves an emotional purpose - a place to vent and seek comfort amongst like-minded others. In many cases, people don't actually mean what they say, but they're not here for nuance. They're here to serve an emotional purpose and it's never been any different.

I get what you are saying.
I'm not as active on here as I used to be as there are too many entitled wankers on here or the new breed of fan and their take on proceedings differs to older fans like myself.

I find myself getting into arguments when in reality i can't be arsed.

Shame as I love coming on here but I'm slowly finding myself not wanting to anymore.

Some of our lot are entitled wankers now mate

We should have a separate section on the forum for those that endured the Pearce days and beyond

Like of course I was peeved about today, but I sold my soul for the treble so maybe I'm to blame....

I think there's quite a bit of frustration, and some things that are hard to fathom, certainly for me. I'm not a vocal critic of players on here but I don't see it in Rico as a first team player, why haven't we bought a right back? Why have we just given Dias a new contract? Why is the keeper situation in limbo after 2 games?

Why did we look so tactically inept today? We couldn't play out from the back, yet when we went long there were no other players close to Haaland to fight for the second ball, that's schoolboy stuff.

We've been poor against good teams for a while now, yes we can outplay the cannon fodder team's but against the good teams it's becoming a struggle.

I blame those Canadians coming over for their first game today.

;)

Pearce? Fuckin hell - how about being a kid that's new to football and all his mates are rags that never go, you get a season ticket and Franny Lee decides to have a meltdown and appoint Ball and in your first season of watching football you watch your club get relegated. Then in your second you watch your club get relegated again haha. Those were the days! Pearce was a walk in the park compared

Did this need a thread? Do you only want to read things you like/agree with? Not sure that’s how forums work?
