If you cannot comfortably play out from the back then don’t. I’m not sure Eddie would have played that ball today, just better to hoof it. Today’s mistake more about decision making
Yap

Just fawkin kick it as hard as you can a leave it up there to Haaland and Marmoush to deal with it. Or fight for a second ball

Its much more acceptable to see than conceding a goal

Stick Ederson back in, he is good with his feet......yeah

But it's the bloody defence that has forgot how to play out from the back
There's a couple of defenders that started today who are no good accepting the ball under pressure. Throw in Nico who hasn't got the composure of Rodri when pressed and it's a recipe for fuck ups.

So if we accept that Trafford is not No1 material, and that we can't persuade Eddie to stay, and that Donna is no better than Trafford when it comes to playing from the back just who do we put in goal ? Who else, who is an established keeper is available regardless of if they can play out from the back and can be signed this window ?

Get the best keeper and just launch it!!!!!

Why do we NEED to play it out from the back?? Yeah it’s worked for the best part of 7 years bu the press on the premier league is too much now and I’d rather it was lumped back up and then with a more energetic press we get it back..

And the fact we’ve got a Norwegian meat shield up front who needs to learn to use his height and strength and start trying to get some flick ons up top

We need to get players around Haaland if we are going to do that. Should have Marmoush, Bobb and Cherki of the players that started today within 10 yards of him for the flick on, second ball. I'm sure he'd battle much harder if he had players close and it wasn't just him against 2 or 3 defenders, without much hope of getting possession.

A nervous keeper who makes poor choices and ill advisably roams out of the box puts his defense on a knife's edge.

Traff has a future but tossing him in to the fire assuming he's got top tier #1 skills and mentality especially after the season we just endured is naive.

I'm not sold on Donnarumrunner as he's not suited to the out from the back style that Pep appears to be wed to... HOWEVER if Eddie is done inasmuch as hes mentally no longer wanting to be here... then, if we can even get scraps for Eddy (who'd go on a free next summer anyway) how do we turn down an undoubted one of the worlds great shot stoppers?

Trafford’s mistake today had nothing to do with his “feet”.

Any sane goalkeeper including Ederson wouldn’t have tried that pass. It was literally suicidal.

It’s the decision that’s caused the issue. He needs to sort that out quickly.

Rest of the game his “feet” were fine apart from one or two 1970s hoofs to no one.
I would’ve twatted it up the pitch.

Good as he was it’s the championship. He may well grow into a great PL player but not yet.

We need someone proven at the highest level if we want to challenge for the PL and even make it into the CL next season.
I get what you are saying but to improve he needs to play. I would guess that since joining he has been drilled to try to play out from the back so maybe he was trying to comply with that when he should have gone long.
Having Ederson on the bench who is legendary for his ball playing must be putting pressure on him to use his feet.

Donnarumma would probably have more confidence to make decisions that might go against what the coaching staff are asking for in situations like that today but I still am dubious about his suitability for a Pep team.

Trafford at least deserves some credit for his saves in the second half - he did not crumble.

The trouble is if we don't build up from the back and bait the press then each team will just sit 5-5-0 in their own box - a different situation we can never manage to do anything against.

Haaland is just a poacher to be on the very end of moves he doesn't really chase or battle for the long balls.

It'll take a while for the whole defence not to revert to going back to the goalie under any pressure so it's going to be an intense learning curve for Donnarumma if he joins.

we scored more goals of Ederson going long and found an attacker then passing out in the back and find some space only for Bernardo, Gundo slow the action down, turn around, wait for opposite defenders to regroup and we started our sideaway play ending up it Akanji-Dias passing to each other and spend most time on the ball instead of creative players who can make things happen, then lose the ball and by a counter boom 1shot=1 goal vs us.

Hijack the Rags move for the Belgian guy

: Gigio Donnarumma has agreed personal terms with Manchester City

Long term deal ready for Italian goalkeeper and talks underway with Paris Saint-Germain over the total fee.

❗️ The deal depends on Éderson’s exit this summer.

You think it goes against coaching stuff to play it upfield ,when you cant make a short pass??i don't think so, nobody asks you to do a stupid pass like this, he had 5 other options and he just chose the worst one and game was done.
