Hugo Viana | Director of Football

That was the luckiest spell he has ever had in charge . Outplayed for the most part with other teams just unable to put the ball in the net . Crystal Palace at home an example. A circus . They should have been 4 nil up . Forest in the cup another example . Luck finally ran out in the final.
When you say Palace should have been 4 up, I’d ask how

The goal they had disallowed was for offside so it does not even count as a missed chance

Forest in the semi final, we strolled it.

The final v palace saw one of the worst decisions ever in football go against us

This ^ And to date no satisfactory explanation has been provided by PGMOL for their absolute failure to apply the rules appropriately when their was clear evidence provided to the VAR official - in stark contrast to other controversial or incompetent decisions - where Webb has grovelled to the wronged party.

Agree, it was fucking outrageous, as was the Sir Marcus of Fishfinger/ Rat face equaliser at the swamp a couple of seasons before. Add to that the penalty at Wembley against Grealish in treble season. These bent corrupt fuckers make it up as they go along.

Haaland was wearing a sky blue shirt.

Madness how people try and downplay our achievements. I moan as much as anyone but still finishing 3rd, reaching a cup final for most clubs would be fantastic.

I'm very happy with what Viana is doing. He's brought in some great players at excellent value and I'm sure we will be in the mix this season (IMHO we'll win the league again this year). Whilst providing players to make us competitive now, it has to a certain extent gone under the radar that he is also building for the future. I have not seen it mentioned anywhere that City finished the game at Wolves with 4 academy players on the field (Trafford, Lewis, Bobb and O'Reilly). Another, Foden, sitting in the stand ready to return. In addition, he has brought in Reis, Khusanov, Jumba Ba and Nypen (Echeverri is also there although he was down to Txiki).

Other players like Gvardiol, Cherki, Ait Nouri, Doku and even Haaland are young. Savinho too if he stays. City are certainly in great shape for now and the future.

We are ref'd to a different set of rules and have been for some time as part of a blatant attempt at handicapping us in favour of the red cartel. The fact that we have achieved what we have achieved in spite of this makes our achievements all the more remarkable.

And please fuck-off all the usual Mavis fucking Riley simpering wet wipes who come on here with their apologist and justification "all clubs experience this" bollocks. Perhaps some do, but only by exception and in isolation. The treatment of City has been a sustained and prolonged campaign with a clear intention to try and "level the playing field" in favour of the badly-run cartel opposition so that the premier league "product" does not become a farmers league dominated by City.

still time left for him this window. he wasnt left with ideal situation on squad building due to Txiki kind of stopped working after treble win. (still furious about him telling Pep a rebuild is needed but then agreed not to do it, we are paying the prince for it since)

missing out on Belligham, Rice, Wirtz, wanting Livramento but being happy with Lewis-Nunes, there is a theme here in the meanwhile our displays are getting worse generally while others catch up to us and even move ahead.
it would be quite fitting if Ederson leaves but we balk at the cost of Donnarumma and go with Trafford-Ortega into the season.

Our squad quality is considerably behind Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea imo

I think that is true, certainly the first two of those, and you do have to ask why. If you compare the current squad with say the Centurions squad, it is far weaker in my view. But across that period we have had continuity of management, no lack of funds, and we have obviously been hugely successful. It is a bit baffling really, but at some point, probably the three transfer windows post treble, including that summer, we seriously took our eyes off the ball, and it is going to be a major task to get back there now.

Is the first thing after a defeat is to blame the DOF?

Actually I would like to blame Pep, but since he has impunity, the DOF is the weakest link here.

& I don't buy the idea that the DOF is the one who is the main responsible person for recruitment.

IF you read Pep last book, he was sitting with Messi in Pep's apartment discussing which player the team needs and they choose Koulibaly.

I think its Pep responsibility to choose players for the first team, maybe the DOF can help with alternatives, but the final call should be for Pep.

They, including Pep, chose Koulibaly? Then why is he not here?
Pep has said a hundred times that he has to go with the players the club give him. He makes his opinion known but the final decision rests with the DoF. If it doesn’t, what’s he for? Chief scout?? See Alexis Sanchez saga.

That delusion has allowed us to sleep walk into mediocrity. Palace were all over us and had numerous chances not just the disallowed goal.

Forest I agree was more of a stroll whilst ignoring them hitting the woodwork on a few occasions.

Palace final was a disgrace. It was a bad decisions granted, as was awarding us a very soft penalty. We didn’t lose because he wasn’t sent off. We lost because we was shite yet again over the course of a 90 plus minute match and never looked like scoring and conceded the same goal we did countless times last season and now this.

Putting aside the game yesterday, Hugo's ability to sign players for decent fees has been impressive, but going into the season, and a week before the deadline, with so much chaos isn't good.

Fair play mate. I'm not happy after yesterday but I'm a half glass is full kinda guy. Understandable that the new guys got their tough introduction to the physicality of the Premier League but they'll improve. Desperately need a fit and firing Rodri back asap though
