It will be a acomplete change in how we play...not a tweak - does anyone think Pep will do this?

And if he does do we have the players to fit a new system?? I dont think we do
I’m not sure we’ve got the players to fit what’s become the established system.

Exactly this, that second goal is nothing to do with ball playing ability, it's about playing a pass to a player which isn't on! Poor decision making.
Ederson did something similar against Juve in the CWC. I also think as much as that goal is ultimately Traffords fault, Dias does him no favors playing him the ball. At 1-0 down our captain should be making sure we do nothing daft and get to half time still in the game.
Think apportioning blame on Dias is a tad ott. Second goal all on Trafford, decision and quality of pass. He’ll learn (hopefully), but if we’re going to play the ‘youngsters’ we will see more of this I’m sure.
Likely be a painful year.

I don’t for one moment think he would have got shit off Pep.
Lots of times he dithered on the ball yesterday when he could’ve got rid, if he’s indoctrinated in that way then he will get tunnel vision. The system doesnt work with these players and hasnt for a while only one who can’t see it is Pep who seems to think all of a sudden it will click, it won’t, im sure he can change it but for some reason won’t.

This myth of Pep being irate over players not adhering to his supposedly dogmatic style is just the result of Internet bullshit getting out of hand.

He wants to keep the ball. You do that by not giving it to a marked defender in the area. You're right, if he can justify just sending the ball long by saying "everyone near me was marked" there's nothing to get angry over.

Trafford for 30-40M to be a backup for years. Yeah he is gone next season. Our board so weird going for donnarumma now. What was the reason getting Trafford then? Donnarumma isn’t 32+ or whatever he is 26

Had Trafford bothered to look to his right he would have noticed Stones ... with no fucking Spurs player anywhere near him.
Shit happens, just happened to be one which cost us a goal.

Exactly. Pep will want them all to use their nouse when necessary. Yesterday was a case in point

This I agree with. Its not necessarily playing out from the back 24/7 its dont give the ball away and if you do get it back within 5 - 10 secs. Pep aint going ballistic for hoofing the ball or playing a pass to a player in space. Proper ott reaction based I think on the media over reaction to the Joe Hart situ years ago.

Still a mistake and worthy of criticism, but those arent really the same thing. Trafford had time and space and just gave the ball to a marked player.

He'll likely know he has to play the ball quicker than that in future. There's an extra touch there that is completely unnecessary.

How many times has he done that since November 2023 when it happened?
Both mistakes are equally bad, the clip just shows when Donnarumma gets pressed he makes bad decision makings too, having enough of time or not doesn't really matter. He's not suited for Pep's system.

We have played with a unique goalkeeper, a one off, we are never going to replicate that, nobody is going to match Eddies style and coolness with the ball . But we do have a chance to get a top goalkeeper with a proven record at the highest level, i would much prefer that to happen and we will worry about his feet after we sign him !!

There are no more Edersons out there, Pep needs to realise this and change the way he uses his keeper, Trafford was obviously shit scared and wouldn’t hoof it yesterday or have Peps wrath.
I was up in 316 and saw Pep gesture several times for Trafford to go long and he was going mental when he went short. I think Trafford was a bit deer in headlights. Stones and Dias seemingly calling for him to pass it to them inside the 18yrd box for some reason and Pep saying go long

I have no clue since I'm just a mere fan, but ideally I hope Ederson will stay for another season so maybe Trafford can learn something from him.
Bu Eddie wants out of Manchester not sure we need a keeper who is not focused on the here and now ,and is more focused on moving, thats not going to really solve our problem .

I see lots of people repeating themselves on the other side of the argument, you being especially prolific. Don't act all superior on this topic.
As prolific as people on the opposing side.

At least I see both sides of tge argument...I know Donnarumma is world class at certain elements.....but certainly isn't at others. The question for me is those resources going towards signing Donnarumma could be used elsewhere much more needed.

What every one needs to accept is our days of domination are over. This isn't transition year. We are now a team who will be fighting for top 6 every year...but that I don't mean we won't win things but we also will just be one of a few teams competing. Signing players we don't essentially need and not signing players for positions we do need is not going to help keeping up with the pack
