New Turnstiles v Tottenham Hotspur Tomorrow

I worked in IT all my life and I would wager a I know a lot more about technology so stop being an arrogant prick. For some it purely didn’t work on the turnstile the ticket said it should

My digital season ticket wouldn't work when I place my mobile phone screen on the scanner or on the nosy bastard cameras. Then I turned my mobile around with a case on it, and it worked. Work that one out.
the NFC on your phone is on the back, just like using your phone to pay at a till you just tap the back.

the front has nowt NFC wise so cannot be read

Had the same going through the Access Entrance where they use a handheld reader. "Turn your phone round" the guy said, so I rotated it clockwise. "No, no, turn it round!" He meant turn it over. Scanned through a heavy duty case on the back, but not the front, go figure.
I was exactly the same in the same access entrance. Told to scan the back of my phone while also had a thick plastic cover attached. Got in no problems.

Its been like that since the start of last season in North Stand level 1. You can tell the new one's, they have 3 or 4 goes at the front first. Your more experienced steward knows to go straight for the back.

On a newer iphone the NFC antenna is near the top next to the camera so pointing the top edge of the phone like holding a remote control will usually work best.

For Android phones it could be anywhere so it’s probably useful for people to check with the manufacturer to find out where it is. When the turnstiles were last upgraded I had an Android phone and it wouldn’t work so I downloaded an NFC reader and could read the old City cards I had to see if I could work out if I was holding the phone wrong at the turnstile.

Has everyone who experienced this issue on Saturday shared it with the club?
I will phone on Tuesday. Unless they are going to add a bar code to the ticket, or they have a convincing explanation, I would like to collect a plastic seasoncard before the Derby.

You shouldn't have to, but claiming fans have to pay 500 quid for a mobile with NFC is pure exaggeration.
The club can't tell you the cheapest phone you can buy which works, so could end up that much when you have bought a few.

The club should dish out phones that work if they want people to use them.

My lad bought a dirt cheap phone before finding out you needed NFC he had to buy another which worked a treat on Saturday.

He will just hand this phone to his mates when he can not make a match.

Facial recognition will be a whole different issue, but did you all wonder about the height of the scanners. Most people will have to bend down to be scanned.

I bought a second hand iPhone 8 as my spare phone. £50. It worked fine on Saturday.

Amazing what lengths the loyal ordinary fans are going to in order to comply with all the barriers put in front of them by the Club.

If only the players could show the same effort and dedication we would be unbeatable.
