Will we win the league this season?

You clearly don’t understand what the term flat track bully means.

You must have been as drunk as the real BY usually was to have come up with that drivel

'A flat-track bully is a term used in sports for a player or team that performs exceptionally well against weaker opponents but struggles against more challenging, top-level competition.'

Am I missing something? It sounds very accurate to me. Just cos it doesn't fit with your drivel doesn't mean it's drivel.

Very early days..nobody can know for sure

However, we failed our first real test and the issues we had last season seem to still exist. That's not a surprise when you see how we got knocked out of that club world cup just about a month ago..

So id have to say no.

When your solution to a change in opposition tactics is to sell our best players “utter crap” is an appropriate response.

You see then it's a matter of perception. I don't think haaland and dias are our best players. I think they hinder our play. You do and you think that notion cannot be challenged. To say utter crap without reasoning was childish.

Childish maybe but 100% correct. Anyone that wants to sell Haaland does not understand football. Who are you bringing in to replace him? Is Pep to be sacked for his apparent lack of tactical flexibility? Should our owners hang their heads in shame at our recent defeat?

On the strength of what I’ve seen so far I think Arsenal will finally win it.

Very good depth, added a proper goal scorer and will be beyond desperate to finally get over the line.
Agree. And much as I despise that not so humble club, at least it would prevent the fest that would happen if Dipperpool retained.

My outside bet is Chavs, much the lesser of all evils.

Good points there. Not a chance we are competing for the title this year.

There is no leadership, charisma or character in the team. Who in our squad would you want alongside you when the pressure gets turned up.

We no longer have the technical ability to control games, and are the weakest team physically in the whole premier league. Our recruitment is a shambles summed up by the decision to buy a championship level goalkeeper and then put him straight in when he looks physically sick whenever the ball is passed to him. We used to show international legend goalkeepers the door that couldnt play with their feet, now we give championship level keepers with the same issues 6 year contracts !

Still without a right back 8 months after Walker left is negligence.

Viana has a week to save his job in my opinion cause we are sat with a bloated unbalanced squad going backwards which he’s done fuck all to sort out.

We’ve tossed off the season already cause there is no quick fix for this mess.
I think I would consider changing your username if I was you

Every post you make comes across as a parody that is trying to reflect your moniker

Like I wrote near the start of this thread, if we don't buy a RB then it's a 100% no. It's already cost us 3 points. We also need another back up LB as well as a back up RB. So even if we just get one RB I seriously doubt we'll be winning anything this season with injuries and suspensions. It's going to be a long season unfortunately

I predict that we'll finish 4th or worse.

In spite of our signings our press is awful and this leads to numerous problems. Meanwhile Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea are better.

Utter crap.
Both arguments have some merit, particularly Dias I was astounded to hear we are going to buid our defence around him for the next five years. Haaland has to put the ball in the net at least 30 times a league season to justify his place imo. He seems capable of doing this most of the time so it seems wise to play him even if he contributes little to general play. While I think we have made the right decision in backing him I would be far from devastated if we sold him for a very large fee moving forward.

How much significance to attach to one game vs Spurs? To what extent was that game skewed by the performance of Trafford? Trafford not only cost us a goal but he damaged the quality of our possession through slow and inaccurate distribution. That is my impression, but I might be wrong. I am biased against Trafford because I remember his performances for Burnley in the Premier League. I think Trafford will go on to be a good keeper but he needs experience.
