Atmosphere Thread | 2025/26

Sadly yes, but as I said in an earlier post many more performances like yesterday and they'll fuck off to the next new shiny toy. What happens then? The club have a 62,000 capacity stadium they have to fill that's what. They'll try and entice local fans back, but remembering when they were priced out and happily fucked off for morons like this, they'll rightly say, go fuck yourself.
I already have mate. It’s not the game I grew up watching.
It was our tribe, win or lose we turned up and backed the boys.
Now it’s a money making machine and they have gone too far.
They are actually taking the piss with some off the shit they’ve introduced over the years.

Remember during covid and we were told football is nothing without the fans. What happened since?

The dangers of AI in full effect, seen this multiple places now and hardly anybody has identified it as fairly obvious fake/AI.

Look at everybody's fingers if you want the biggest give away. Unless that whole section are offspring of the slenderman, it's pretty clear it's not a real photo.

We are absolutely doomed as a society when the vast majority have taken this as genuine.

If only.

mate I’ll be real with u, i was sat in 314 yesterday, and im from holland but support city so im technically from “abroad” but dont confuse me with people that dont sing and chant cause i support with all my heart and i was genuinely baffed yesterday at how awful rhe support was from the SSL3 genuinely baffed. I was the only one who sang in the 2nd half and i felt like a complete doughnut because nobody around me sang with me to get our players going. Everybody was sitting down and not chanting. Mate believe me when i tell ya those people looked and sounded as manc as big steve does… so i genuinely dont want to hear its just fans from abroad, although yeah they definitely dont bring any atmosphere, there is still a bigger thing going on with. Hows the south stand supposed to be where our noise comes from but nobody was up for it??????
I have no problem with foreign blues who support City, some are just as passionate as I am. After the 2011 FA cup final I celebrated with @eversince 76. I became friends with Eric from Holland on another City forum around 2009. We danced and sang non stop in The Green Man for over an hour celebrating winning the cup.

Not seen you or spoke to to in ages Eric, hope you and your lovely wife are well, mate.

Nothings real anymore. Authenticity and truth has died with this AI.

I think it’s the age old mystery about the atmosphere, some days you have it sometimes you don’t. The performance and nerves with the goalkeeper and playing it out being pressured didn’t help but come to the Manchester derby or against Liverpool/arsenal etc and it’s the best around? I think it’s a problem across English football. Switch the channels and there’s a mix of silence and chatter in most parts of games.

What happened since Covid is that PL games have continued to sell out, so I'm not sure of the point you are trying to make.
The ground may not sell out to City fans, and indeed we seem to be plagued with half 'n' half Muppets, but the grounds are generally full.

The atmosphere would have been great on Saturday had we taken either of our early chances and not conceded twice before half-time. But Spurs scored the type of goal we conceded so often last season; pace and strength against a slow midfield and defence, and we showed nothing to suggest we were going to score, never mind equalise. Where was the urgency, where was the desire?
It would have been different had we not ballsed up a great chance in the second half or if we'd scored the penalty we should have had after the foul on Bobb, but it's all ifs and buts.

I think he meant the clubs made out they appreciated what fans bring to the game. Yet have continued to shit on the hardcore support at every opportunity since

They even made an AI video of ratface getting upset when the ref tackled him from behind viciously, is nothing sacred now ?

:)

Covid is what made PL owners realise that fans mean nowt. A whole year without fans in the ground and their profits were barely affected, infact some even went up due to increased TV revenue.

Why the fuck are they all wearing City shirts but smiling and taking pictures because Spurs have scored?? One good thing is many more performances like yesterday and they'll all be fucking off elsewhere.
They’ll probably be at the dippers next home game wearing their shirts, glory hunting

The clubs see those coming through the turnstiles as fans/supporters/customers/tourists (delete as applicable) and don't care about their origins. I'm sure the clubs saying they wanted fans in the grounds was more to do with ticket sales than anything else; certainly in the lower leagues which don't benefit from sky-high broadcast revenues.
The point is the clubs know how much they can charge to fill empty seats with tourists, and how much less they'd get if tickets were priced to attract lapsed supporters.
I still believe our bean counters are in for a shock when NS1 (as it's now called) opens early next year, especially if we have many more performances like Saturday.

Bluesmith has spotted on another thread that the pic might be fake. Probably AI based on the hands of the subjects. Well spotted.

Thst said, I’ve seen another pic and some of those fans are smiling after the goal went in.

That was because they still got the TV money and has very little outlay on staffing costs. Because there was fuck all else to do, everybody was watching it, but it was absolutely shit as a spectacle without fans. No way would anybody watch it if that was the norm all the time. The TV would stop paying to broadcast it and football would die.

We made an enormous loss. City continued to pay staff.

Thinking about it I didn't see any half n half wankers on Saturday.

Saw a few behind the East Stand before the game but fewer than usual. The most ridiculous one I saw on Saturday was a clown wearing an England shirt with Bellingham on the back.
