Liverpool are now the powerhouses that we use to be it’s easier if you just accept it blues
They are a shambles in defence, and actually not creating much the other end, but are clynical at finishing and have players that can score all over the pitch. They also show a lot of guile at times to get it over the line. They are a good side but haven't been anything more than that since sowing the league up last season. They also don't have much strength in depth. Far from a powerhouse and struggled against 10 men against a Newcastle team that are missing their best player and leaked goals against Bournemouth

Fuck the stats I was there I watched it with my own eyes we couldn’t get out of our half for 2 separate 20 min spells
Indeed. While we did create a few chances in general we looked disjointed and came off second best all over the pitch. Looked a million miles away from competing for anything tbh. The next few games will give us a better idea if we can get close to the others at the top. Its hope rather than expectation I fear.

Ive accepted it. But WHY have we allowed it to happen
Because we are obsessed with the net spend trophy.

They bring in payers like Gravenberch and Szabozali, whilst we throw money at Nunes and Gonzalez.

Ekitike looks the business this season and Wirtz will undoubtedly become one of the best AM in the league. Whilst we watch Marmoush and Foden amble around giving the ball away.

When we was mopping up silverware we should have identified proper replacements. And integrated them slowly whilst the big boys were still around to show them what takes to be a top player.

Over the course of a few years, We've lost the best RB in the prem (Walker), the best CM (De Bruyne) and 2/3 of the best wide forwards I've seen at the club (Sane, Sterling, Mahrez). Add into the mix a prime Gundogan. Yes, some people say those players are a once in a lifetime generational talent.

When we lost Aguero, Silva, Toure, Kompany, they too were generational, but we found just as good replacements.

The premier league is brutal as we all have seen. Teams are fitter and stronger than ever. And with the influx of top European coaches, teams are very well drilled nowadays.

We have been left behind and are now playing catch up.

To be fair mate we aren't winning things because teams have got better we aren't winning things because we have dropped off a cliff. An example of this was the scouse last night they got pounded by a 10 man team and relied of Fergie time to finish the job.

In any season over the last ten years we win that title last season, we lost it and that's very much on us. The premiership spending more on players doesn't mean those players are better than other players around the world it just means that they cost more because premier league teams get rinsed by other teams and by each other.

The dippers are the powerhouse are they? After two games? Wow! You must be the custodian of the Matchday Thread, what a bundle of laughs!
We will all of us have a better idea of how things stand around the Christmas mark: nothing definite of course, but we will have our bearings and know everyone's weaknesses and strengths. Basically conceding the title in August? Nah, fuck that.
Whoever wins I just hope we fight to the last and not whimper out like the season just gone. As long as we get stuck in and go toe to toe with everyone I will be content. Giving it your all is important, the world loves a tryer. And as long as come April/May we've given a fucking good account of ourselves, as far as I see it we'll have had an honourable season.

How do they want to compete for titles yet they are playing 16 years old kid !

They should loan him out for the next 6 years and then start giving him few minutes in the Carabao Cup

Take away their favourable reffing and they look like a team with issues in defence and have issues integrating the new players into their attack. They did not actually create that much against Newcastle and could not control a game against 10 men.
City will finish above the bin dipping tramps if they do not get at least one very good defender in before the window closes.

Are there no rules to punish these bin dipping tramps for tapping up Isak? It is fucking relentless in the media and it stinks. Dipper shills like Carragher are constantly coming coming out with "Newcastle must sell" articles.

City wanted Livramento and the player wanted City but Newcastle said no and we accepted it and moved on unlike those classless twats.

With Gordon now banned Newcastle absolutely need Isak - hope they make a stand.

You just through us in as favourites for the league and thought we wouldn’t notice lol I take it you didn’t see us get dominated by Tottenham on our on patch
Why would I think you wouldn't notice? Why would I be bothered either way?
We were not dominated.
We expect some inconsistency while we introduce wholesale changes to coaching and lineup.
Yes, I think we are in the group of favourites.
I don't think we will win it but I think we are in the mix.

We are doomed, I tell thee.

I will put money on it that you had a go at Mahrez, Gundogan, and Walker, at times.

I don't think Liverpool have looked great, defensively they have been poor. They are attacking well as they have quality attackers but as a team I don't think they are moving too freely. That might change with time but I hope it doesn't as it gives us an ever so slim chance if they don't gel.

They take their chances well which is annoying, like us they look dodgy at the back but unlike us they are finishing when giving the opportunity. Wankers

Totally agree, although I'm not sure I would say "good side" at present, perhaps average at best. However, it is only 2 games in and (I at least) hope that players will start to work together better. Whilst City are in transition, with the number of new signings I think that is now true of us aswell.

As for the comment about being "powerhouses", as loathe as I am to criticise a blue on their own forum, that really is a silly comment after only 2 games..... and games where we have been lucky and only won them on stoppage time.

Kerkez needs to get back to basics and watch the ball and focus on defending for a little while. Wirtz needs a little more time and I think Salah is a little off it at present. Defensively, every team in the league will be thinking that they can score against us.

Lets see what the league looks like after 9-10 games and we can have a better view. Until then its a case of trying to stay in touch with those most likely to be the real competition, Arsenal, City & Chelsea. It may not be as relaxing as watching a team run away with it, but I really think this could be an exciting season again with 4 teams in it.

They look like us season 2012/13.

They'll concede a shit load this year. Yep they may outscore other teams but that's 4 goals in two games and twice being pegged back after being 2 up.

When they win the treble and do four in a row you can repost your last post.
