Savinho | City reject Spurs approach

Why would City let one of their best young players on a long contract go. Top assister last year, so much scope for improvement.

If we take as true that he's been unsettled I still don't think we get rid. We bought him for a reason and he was one of our better players last year.
It will be explained to him that the club loves him, Pep loves him and if he's still unhappy in a year we talk again.
We bought Phillips for a reason too apparently

Some you win, some you lose. It's the way the cookie crumbles mate...
Exactly, that's what I mean. Saying we bought Savinho for a reason as a means to say why sell him doesn't really mean anything.

Plus he's tripe

Yep and unlike Savinho he was rubbish whenever he played for us.

In fact Savinho's 8 assists placed him 10th in the league overall.

The only City players for me who outperformed him last year were
Haaland
Gvardiol
Kovacic
O'Reilly
Marmoush
Khusanov

Again, the standard set last year by most if not all of the team isn't a fantastic bar to measure against.

That 16 old last night now has as many league goals as Savinho

So does Oscar bobb (19 apps) though and you won't see it count against him often here.

One of the best U21 wingers in the world as Viana and Soriano's pricing is attesting to.

I don’t understand keeping a player who’s had his head turned. He’s isn’t going to come back in and perform his best.

Unless he hands in a transfer request he's obviously prepared to stay.

Players accept other deals all the time. If he wants to get into the Brazil squad or potentially get a Real Madrid style move (rumoured to be looking at him when we got him) then he's going to have to play his best.

Yes and we have no idea where he'll be in a few years. There was a young black kid who scored a great goal for us in the Carabao a couple of years back who we sold to some team in the championship.

And while I agree that last year's players didn't set a high bar for a young kid to come into our league and have 2 less assists than Saka and Fernandez is hardly shabby.

You don't rate him fine. But given his stats last year I'd be inclined not to bail on him just yet.

Micah Hamilton. Didn't he score in the Champions League too?

I was shocked when we sold him to Middlesbrough. He looked a great prospect

I’m well aware.

The reports are it’s going to be anything around 70/75m upfront with a few million in add ons so for PSR purposes it’s about as good as you can get.

Rodrygo would be similar cost most likely but the amortisation is across a likely 5/6yr contract.

What point are you making, You don’t think City can afford Rodrygo?
No, that the structure of deals, not just raw numbers (neither of which we will probably ever know) can be a big factor in how and when deals get done.

Suitcase. He’s such a little beg. Desperate to leave to a club with lower aspirations.

Yeah he’s not supposed to have fun ? What’s wrong with you?

Would never sell him to spurs to fuck up their squad. They need him desperately. Why give him up when they refused to sell kane + levy is one of the leaders of the 115 charges.

I’m guessing he is referring to the case not the table…as in “look I’m all ready to leave” Of course that could be pure chance.

Im indifferent to him leaving if he does.

He has undoubted talent but from a year of watching him he needs to develop a backbone. His finishnig is probably one of the worst Ive seen of anyone under Pep as well. Sterling got castigated for it but he was way better than Sav is.

If he stays he will have to really apply himself to win fans back over...as its clear that he is at least open to a move...he could have come out and said that he didnt want to move and wanted t stay here to see hwat he ould ahieve and push himself. All this bollocks supposedly about playing time...he is a kid int he toughest league in the world and that seems to suggest he thinks he deserves more straight away....Needs to learn some humility

If he stays play him on the left. Not convinced by Doku as a starter or Marmoush in that position. Bobb, Cherki and Foden can cover the right.

I think he is more than open to a move.

Rodrygo is open to a move but he is still showing up and playing for Madrid. Savinho isn't even turning up to play for us, he clearly wants out and wants the move, and even if he stays I feel this will be an issue come January especially in a world cup year.
