PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

honestly stop feeding the troll, crooked rain is a complete idiot there is no other word for him and he disguises his stupidity in a word salad and then becomes condescending and defensive when his complete and utter crap his called, his continuous chipping away at city is noticeable to everyone but hes inoffensive and erudite so he gets away with it, but make no mistake he is no city fan, just a sad little troll.
Maybe it’s Nick using one of his many Bluemoon accounts….just saying;)

I'm city through and through

I clearly get involved in all match threads, transfer threads etc and I'm extremely pro city
How can you claim to be City through and through, if your decision to support them hinges on the outcome of a botched witch hunt?

If I were you, I'd call it a day on this forum for now.

if you must come back in a few months time using a different username, at least read the room and try not to be so obvious.

How often do you actually see the team live? That changes your perspective because there’s nothing like sitting with other fans enjoying a match. There’s no way you’d ever think of discarding the club under any circumstances

From the poster who doesnt use capital letters or apostrophes appropriately in his own username. Lol
You could make a case for his username not requiring an apostrophe if it’s describing a style of moustache worn by Gordon Davies rather than indicating possession of the moustache to Gordon Davies.

The whole point of following City is the roller coaster. Nothing like going to the match.

I've been here years pal, always involved in city discussions.

I was probably a bit hasty saying I won't support city as much if found guilty. I have good days and bad days. Personality disorder n all.

I guess it's more a reflection of football as a whole. Teams and leagues and organisation suing each other, takeovers by business entities with no love for the game, although I do believe the City owners do genuinely care, look at the development of the local area. But as a whole, it's become a nasty business and If we were guilty of cooking the books, it'd just be another dent in a game that's already fucked.

While I agree with your point about how we'd castigate other clubs , if the boot was on the other foot, I have to point out this is not a criminal or civic case .

I have never thought our club is " good ", if that word applies to the owners . That notion leads to cultdom . Hello dippers .But a lot of good people support this club and it's that brotherhood of joy and suffering that I value .

But ....Our owners are not being accused of breaking any law , just the rules in a closed shop. The PL is a highly malleable gentleman's club, apparently happy to keep the doors wide open to anyone with money to buy their overpriced tatt , but who didn't want us there any more when we started drinking all the booze and winning all the prizes without smashing the place up .

For me the whole thing smells like a racist vendetta. Have to say though the PL played a PR blinder with the number of charges, which makes our club the equivalent of worst serial killer in the world but , more importantly, will also guarantee years of legal wrangling and post hearing consideration .

This is the age of the news spectacle and keeping the "spectacle" in the news for years was the main objective . Football is a gift with its never ending coverage keeping the story in the eye of the public in a way most other spectacle based outfits would die for .Every time we play it's like the publicist's wet dream.
Truth is established these days by spectacle and repetition of spectacle to grab attention , facts don't matter , just look at Trump, Farage and Boris for recent political examples .

In another time perhaps the media would have been creating considered factual content about the astounding resilience of our team under enormous pressure (and despite having been cleared of very similar accusations by the highest court of arbitration in European football) , about the hostile environment City fans are living with and how it's lucky noone has yet come to grief , about the disruptor model and how it does a mix of good and bad things , about the racism implicit in the sports washing allegations, about the way PSR cases are escalating and how fans were never going to understand why City's case was taking so long when other clubs seem open and shut .But these are complex issues that would need funding and / or brave intelligent journalism and proper journalism hardly exists in sports media now . Spectacle is more effective and social media is the perfect vehicle.

Let's just remember how it was the need for spectacle and a criminal act that started this whole thing rolling .

I honestly suspect there is no smoking gun and the PL have always known it . We have been attacked by the media equivalent of their biggest nuclear weapon in a war that has all the self righteousness of a crusade . And when we won a recent battle the silence from the media was deafening .

For myself , when the accusations dropped , I felt sick . But when the smoke cleared I felt both sad and angry . Sad because I can't freely talk about the game I love with any random football fan on a casual basis (on the bus or at social events or even my family ) without wondering when the word "cheats" will come up and the usual sound bites . Angry because of all I've said above and the way our fantastic achievements as a team in the pitch are being poisoned . As fans we are, by definition, biased but the relentless take down of our club with these drawn out and by design accusations has turned me into a more guarded , cynical , more revengeful supporter and I don't like that .
Ten likes.
“The brotherhood of joy and suffering”…..chapeau, perfect.

thats his punch line .......empty seats who'd of thought it
Oh yeah, you can just imagine it mate (but I’d rather not).

Just had a look, 2 nights in October, £25 a ticket to commemorate his 25 years in the business or something. Whatever, can’t imagine any blue (or red) supporters from Manchester being tempted, but I’m sure some will.
