Our goalie situation is a fuckin farce

One who won’t get a game and we want to ship out and nobody wants to buy

One who wants to leave, sort of, but isn’t sure, and we don’t have a proper buyer for anyway and who’ll probably phone it in like he has for the last 18 months

One kid who’s shown real potential and who’ll get thrown to the wolves

Absolute amateur hour.

As much as we admire Ederson can we stop and think for a moment. Why apart from a bunch of Turkish chancers has no other club come in to buy him. He's at an age where for a goalie he's got years left, he's not an expensive buy given his contract situation. Perhaps we are a little too blind to his limitations.

I feel the goalkeeper situation is a complete mess at the moment.
Looks to me like the club have played this well, they have rejected the offers from Gala as they clearly want Eddy to stay another year, not sure that he really wanted to go there anyhow, had the backup of Donnarumma and had already signed Trafford. Ortega had been kept in case things didn't go quite to plan

Probably because not many top clubs need a goalie, he was never going to another PL club and others are aware of what his criteria is to leave City and they dont match it
Same as Donnarumma only been serious links to City

Yeah I do but if off the back of that many first team starts, coming from our Academy and a full year experience in the prem. Traff wont ever be ready if people think he isn't now.
Bizarre thought process. He's 22, he has got arguably 15 years ahead of him. Why can't we think he is not ready just yet but also reasonably expect him to be ready some time in the next few years?

What other top club has a 22 year old first choice keeper? A lot of people regard Alisson as the best keeper around, where was Alisson at 22? Still in Brazil, before moving to Roma to play understudy to Szczesny.

What area of his game do we think he isn't ready yet? Ball playing? Well if he isn't now he never will be after being coached that way throughout the youth sides and then playing that way a few years at Burnley. He is a very good shot stopper so that front he is ready for me. Decision making? Yeah maybe, the rushes out against Spurs were worrying but Ederson still doing that in his pomp shows that it is never perfected.

Maybe composure I will go with, being that bit quicker on the ball with better decision making. The point I was giving was this is a player that played a huge part in the england under 21 euros win. It is a keeper with over 150 first team appearances so whilst young he is experienced.

The knock on effect of this will be Donarumma will end up at the Salford scum.

His old school ‘catch the ball and welly it upfield’ style might not suit us but he’d improve those cunts immeasurably. They desperately need a no nonsense proper keeper in the De Gea mould. Last night is testament to that.

What are his criteria?

We now have a keeper who doesn’t want to be here and will go next season while we watch the best keeper in the world who wants to come to us by the way go somewhere else . Amateur stuff all he way . Since the treble our recruitment has been poor and it’s as if when we won the champions league we now are sitting back . If we wanted a player we just went out and did the business now we just try to appease everyone . So disappointing if this doesn’t happen .

Needs to be told he’s had all summer to secure a move, and to forget it. He needs to honour his contract. So, be professional and get on with it at Brighton on Sunday.

Think part of the problem Trafford has is the fee. When you spend best part of £30m on a goalkeeper I don't think it's unreasonable to except him to be ready.

The figures vary depending on where you read it and what the add-ons in the deals were, but we sold him for about £19m and then bought him back with 2 years playing experience for about £29m.

Dont just think about his fee to come here, you can't without factoring in what we got from Burnley. We basically paid about £10m for him to get him close to being up to speed. Now he just needs to get used to the players around him etc.

Disagree. We’ll have an unmotivated keeper along with a keeper not ready to be number 1 for us. A Recipe for disaster incomimg

Perhaps Eddy needs to look at himself to understand his situation. To date he has suited our style of play where seemingly his ability with his feet offset his weaknesses as a shot stopper and as a penalty saver. Anybody who the comedy last night will now recognise how important it is to have somebody who has a sniff at saving a penalty. No other side will accept these shortcomings when their own style of play would have to be changed to accomodate Eddy

I
People aren't paying enough attention to this.

Some on here try to make out that he's the best keeper in the world. But it seems like nobody really wants him other than us and united. Weird that.
Its very late in the day. Most teams are set for the season.
