You're not the only one to wonder that.

City were looking to add Laporte a lot earlier than he came but he wanted to stay in Bilbao and get more gametime.. so what do we know??

Girona is in for a shit season. its like if we dont give them quality loans they wont make any transfers themselves, certainly not quality ones.
also after their great season that got them the CL, they sold off some of their best players or lost Savinho from the loan, and havent replaced them much.

it would be good if they could stay up tho as cant see us using them much if they are in second div.

this whole CFG project, not sure where is it heading now.
Palermo, Troyes, Girona, 2 of them in lower leagues Girona soon as well maybe.

Strasbourg is connected to Chelsea and there is hell of a lot more business between them. just this summer they got 3 players on loan from Chelsea and purchased two from Chelsea reserves for almost 20m pounds total.
not sure if its Boehly doing PSR tricks again and paying for the transfers through Strasbourg:).
but they spent on players other than that too quite nicely while our CFG teams not at all.
if it goes like this Chelsea group will be better to join than City group.

I watched the Sevilla and Villarreal matches. Girona is terrible right now.

A lot of their better players have been sold the past few years (A. Garcia, M. Gutierrez, A. Dobvyk, L..Krejci, S. Bueno).

When they had their breakthrough season they had key loan players in Savinho, Y. Couto and E. Garcia also.

Last season they tried to replace Savinho with Asprilla. Aleix Garcia with Van de Beek.

Rely too much on a 38 year old Stuani. 35 year old Daley Blind is still a key player for them lol.

Arnau Martinez has regressed a lot too. Just not good team over there. Not enough athleticism, creativity and legs.

Reis has been their best player but when you're a defender and your team is giving that many goals no one will really care. The season will give him many lessons. He will get good playing time in a solid league, play in some big stadiums. Hopefully he shows his quality.

He was never going to get anything better than Girona.

He is lucky he is playing in Europe so soon because to have been bought for £30m despite only playing 22 games for Palmeiras, the scouting department must be absolutely convinced this guy is going to be a hit.

When we signed Gabriel Jesus, he was only a year older than Reis but had nearly 100 appearances for Palmeiras.

I don't see why it would. He was their best rated defender last two games. He was always going to have ups and downs as part of his education, I would rather have him have that learning at Girona and come back closer to being ready for City and PL.
