It's Quiet the £250m return

Agree. I just said the club's MO has changed. So there's one question you are raising, our talent level. OK, I'll do it. I'll raise a question, can this version of Pep get the better of anyone who has anywhere near our talent level or does he need to have the upper hand at every position on the pitch? Also. they started the game with 7 or 8 midtable players. So what gives?
We outplayed them in the first half and they outplayed us in the last half hour. Before their pen they had very little though.
Our average players messed up good openings and gave away soft goals, so they shaded it 2-1.

From first hand experience. Soriano only ever crows about the turnover and commercial aspects at games and fleets over performances and success.
At the end of the day we are a commercial business and, whilst the dof and mgr will have targets, so will commercial.

We’ve been exceptionally successful, but we cannot win everything all the time.

People honestly need to make their minds up whether we're rebuilding or not;

Do you want 30-somethings to take playing time off your future stalwarts and to finish closer to Liverpool and Arsenal?

Do you want to invest time and development in the youngsters and accept we're going for top 4 and starting a new cycle led by foden, cherki, savinho, bobb, rico, khusanov, o reilly, haaland, doku, ait nouri, nico g (not saying they all make it, but a core emerges from those)?

Yeah that’s fair enough mate but I can’t help thinking the football side has taken a back seat to CFG work, the CO OP arena and the north stand? Eyes off the football side maybe as Soriano was the vision behind CFG and a commercial machine? The investment into the squad has been poor with regards the player quality to money spent and with a manger who is seemingly stuck in his ways even though it’s not working?

Most of citys losses are like that in the last year , so clearly something is wrong. Why players make the same mistakes over and over again or why there is a mental breakdown as soon as city concede a goal in the second half?! Playing better than other team for 70 minutes isnt helping much if you still loose the game.

It was a carbon copy of the last time we went there. To see the same old failings this season is so disheartening. The Al Hilal game was the canary in the coal mine - it showed that we hadn't moved on from 24/25 and there was still work to do.

Fair. But at same time if we are doing it we are doing it. So stop messing around at full back. We also would be doing it with a strong spine.

Exactly...

We should be realistic. I think they more than shaded it mate.
Trafford made at least 3 very good saves, maybe more (one may have proved offside). I can’t recall BHA keeper making a save bar a pathetic effort from Haaland that I could have thrown my cap on.
It’s true that we were slightly the better team in the first half but they dominated the second and ran all over us after they made the 4 subs. Haaland really has to do better but other than him we have no threat at all. Both wings provide nothing and our wingers are in no way good enough.
The glaring problem is the right back area. Both goals came from there. Nunes is a joke. He was beyond bad before he gave away the penalty. He is not fit to be in our club. Lewis was again missing in action causing Stones to try to cover - he made an error obviously. The point stands, we have a massive problem in the R B area and every team knows it.

Obviously the situation at RB is not ideal but I've still not seen a right back move this summer that I'd definitely want over Rico and Nunes.

It's a problem shared by nearly all top teams, and why we look comfortable to try and wait for Tino.

We’ve given Rico and Nunes more than enough minutes to know it’s actually hurting them and hurting the team to keep doing it. Short term fix for me is stones or khusanov there or even Akanji Bernardo or gundogan who all are better on the ball and smarter than Nunes or Rico. Not ideal, but better for all.

I’d say there’s High correlation between those who think he’s amazing with those who though Bobb would be tearing it up.

I don’t see it. He’d be fine. But that’s all imo
He’s better than our current options which is all we need right now
