Will we win the league this season?

How long is this transition period? We've taken the piss out of those red cunts for saying the same.

3 seasons would make sense.

Shoulda gotten Rice, Macallister for our midfield but we let them go to our opponents.

Reijnders while good isn't exactly imposing himself yet.. but it's early.. maybe things will click or we'll go for replacements.. but there's no easy fix. We said no to the easy fix 2 years ago!

The core of the team has changed. Marmoush and Khusanov.. take them off and it falls apart.

But at least he subbed on O'Reilly not Gundogan!

we are kind of worse now than we were in the worse periods under Mancini or Pellegrini.

3 losses, 1 win. too similar issues in these games. add the Palace game in Wembley. teams know what to do against City. Pep knows that they know. and its probably killing him with him trying to put up a smile and say he has good feelings about this season.

after Rags, Napoli, Arsenal games in about 3 weeks I think it will be time for uncomfortable truth.

That's complete bullshit because we got 1 point from all of November and 4 in December last season!

Do we repeat that too??
No but we won't go on the runs we did last season either IMO especially in the final two months.

Could easily be 3 points out of 15 with Burnley our squeaky bum moment.

I do think losing KDB, is having a massive effect on us. He was a genuine world class player, who could change the game in an instant. Even when he wasn’t playing he brought experience and was a proven winner - something a lot of our young players don’t have

We’re historically slow starters……..we’ll get better, won’t we?
We certainly will get better.

We won’t win the league, but most of our squad only started pre-season training on 28th July and some not until 4th August. From there we played one pre-season game.

Most other teams went back on 8th July and played upwards of 5 or 6 pre-season games. Our fitness is about where most other teams were on 11th August, but that’s around when we played Palermo.

Not just fitness, but we will also get better as a group that hasn’t played much together before. New signings will bed-in. Then Rodri played his first 90 minutes for a year today (and was kackered after an hour), hopefully he’ll be back to his best in about 4-6 weeks. Then add in our other two best players in Gvardiol and Foden to Rodri getting back to his best - plus getting Cherki going and Savinho back in the fold - and we’ll be a different side.

We still won’t win the league, but we will get much better.

Liverpool 3 wins and most likely getting Isak and Guehi.

Our club continue to be afraid of criticism in the media and going all out and getting the very top players. No matter the cost.

As such we've brought in average players and expect Pep to make them world class.

well that would be 4 points from 15. could be 10 points behind Liverpool after 5 rounds or so.

I think title is a pipe dream this season unless Liverpool and Arsenal both collapse.

I'd much rather use this season to try and get 75 points while bedding in a new core of players and making them comfy with what's expected at City.

That means Khusanov/ Gvardiol (hopefully Reis), O'Reilly/ Reijnders/ Ait-Nouri/ Bobb/ Doku/ Foden/ Rico/ Nunes prove they're reliable enough.

After today even though I like Nunes.. I think we need a specialist defensive right back that can close things off after Nunes has done his job.

It looks like Donnarumma's coming in.

Was Sterling world class when he got here?
Was Sane world class when he got here?
Was Jesus world class when he got here?
Was Mahrez world class when he got here?

It took a season for them all to gel.. our truly world class players from the start were Kun Aguero, KDB, Dias and Erling Haaland. Omar/ Julian were/ are really close but I'm not saying world class YET!

Lucky for us we got Burnley after those 3 otherwise we would be challenging our losing streak from last season.

Spent £359m to be in transition. That will go close to £400m when Donnarumma comes in tomorrow.

It's all nonsense this transition talk.

We had one of the best teams Europe has ever seen 2 years ago. No way should we have fallen off as bad we as we have done.

Sterling and Mahrez were already world class players having great goal scoring records in the PL.
