Brighton & Hove Albion (A) | Post Match Thread

All been shite apart from everyone who played like Brazil against a piss poor Wolves.

Khusanov looked good today. Rodri too. Apart from that nobody.

Why all of a sudden grealish leaving is now a mistake because he's had 3 assists is laughable. Jack stunk the place out now all of a sudden he is flavour of the month.

Get the fuck out of here.

All of a sudden?

Welcome back from your coma

Walks into this team any idiot can see that.

BTW you don't even know how many assists he's got, I'll give you a clue more than 3 and more than Doku Marmoush......... takes too long to list all our squad :-)

Stunk the place out pmsl you been watching us last season and this? Hahaha priceless

I thought it would be a totally different City this season after watching us in the early games at the cwc. I thought hey we're playing at a bit of a tempo here and looking sharp, we could be back to how we used to be. Fast forward two months and we look as lethargic as ever, slow build up wingers passing back, passing loose and sloppy, just a mess. Early signs are a big concern and I'm not sure Pep can get us back on top again, he's done here

So what you are saying is grealish changes everything?

Sounds like you are still in a coma.

Sorry for my massive mistake. 4 assists not 3. My bad.

Yep spot on

City doesn't have time for this to work because Liverpool Arsenal and Chelsea are miles ahead and invested this summer,

Yep, it's nice to be just a top 4 team in a rebuild season behind them 3 clubs this season, BUT I don't think City are good enough for a top 4 place based on what we have, and it could be even worse and outside the top 6, Look, nothing is handed out this weekend or before the end of season, but the foundations built 14 years ago by our new owners will be tested this season, that's for sure

Where do we go after today ? The transfer Window closes in less than 24 hours, but the City Squad is 6 or 7 top heavy at the moment to bring anybody in that goes straight into the first team
Its probably a good thing the transfer window closes tomorrow, because based on recent windows, we cant spunk any more money on players we've never heard of on players we sign and never see again.

Its simpler than all that... Pep's system requires top level players.
Every replacement player that's come into the squad over the past couple of years is inferior to the player he's replacing. Maybe Gvardiol is the exception.

That's why we've been tapering down for a few years now...

What Pep can not control is the opponent's manager systems anymore ?
Once, Pep would control the teams we faced, and they were beaten before kick off not anymore

Even the teams that parked the bus fancy it against us that's how bad we have become

4 assists and most times he played last season he played well; then pep dropped him for weeks. Consistent minutes last season he’d have performed better than the many that stunk the place out for a whole season and now again.
Yeah i realise me saying Jack Stunk the place out was incorrect.

The whole team Stunk the place out.

My bad.

True

But plenty of world-class players were on offer this summer and we walked away

We just look so poor on the ball. The drop off in quality is huge.

Outside of Rodri, everyone just looks like they aren’t in full control of the ball and they have no time. It’s not even because we’re facing an elite level press, too many of them need too much time on the ball.

We also make terrible use of the long ball. A long kick is more dangerous to us being countered than it is in getting us on the attack.

there is a reason Spurs beats us badly then they lose to Bournemouth at home. or Brighton fails to beat Fulham at home and loses to Everton but then one good half is enough to get all points vs City.

Yep and why knee jerk by our club won’t happen Pep won’t be sacked he will be given this and next season and backed in the market
I've been really surprised and disappointed by Pep since December. Genuinely disappointed in his apparent lack of flexibility, or any ability to adapt. I can hardly remember any game-changing substitutions or mid-match tactical changes.

Nevertheless, I have never called for his head, because he's still our USP and the identity of the club, more than any player.

His personal problems last year must no doubt have knocked him sideways, but I'd hoped that with the summer, and the chance to bed new players into the squad, that we'd see something to suggest that his mojo had returned. It's difficult to make a point for that having happened yet, isn't it?

I still think that he has to be given this season, but surely no board in the world would allow this malaise to spread into a third season, should the early signs be an accurate indicator of the rest of the season?
