Pep Guardiola - 2025/26

I’m prepared to give Pep time to sort it although I understand many including yourself are now calling for a change, he has credit in the bank imo.
First stood on the scoreboard end as a kid around 1959, I am just a FOC.

You beat me by two years Shirley. Kippax 1961... I bow to your seniority :-)

We're just two FOCs with different opinions on the topic of Pep!

Ok, do you think Vinny is ready to jump into the City managerial hot seat ?
I’m sure he backs his ability like he did when he was a player and a leader. He’s still leading at one of the world’s biggest clubs so I don’t see why he wouldn’t relish the job at City. Not that he’d be asked and not that I’d want him to be our manager by the way. But I’m sure he’d back himself as the winner that he is.

Pep is finished at the highest level. As a Madrid fan there is some satisfaction there, but at the same time as a football fan in general its sad to see a legend's decline.

He'd be mad to take over after Guardiola. There's every chance we'll end up going down the same riad as the rags post-Ferguson.
I think you need someone with experience and presence when you take over from a legend.

If Ancelotti were 10 years younger I'd ask him to steady the ship.
Probably the only person who wouldn't be fazed by it is someone who has done it before, Luis Enrique.

I think perhaps we overstated pep’s importance in our pomp and now we are being overly harsh on pep.

The fact of the matter is the players are nowhere near the level that we had a few seasons ago. We had the best team in the league with players in the bench who would start for 99% of other sides in the league. We now have very average players across the side.

No manager would get much more out of this side imo.

Just look at this side from a few years back!

Couldn’t agree more , was just confused in your words that he’d picked the team that people want
Start to just think the team isn’t good enough. They’re certainly not up to it to keep playing the way Pep wants. The thing is if you stop signing great players then obviously you eventually stop being a great team. Who was the last truly great player we signed?

We just keep spending a lot of money on 40/50m players with potential. We’ve signed another left back who can’t defend. After about 10/15 years of having 2 great right backs we’ve not even got a proper right back. Never mind a top class one. The recruitment has been shocking for a long time and senseless

My wish was always that Pep would leave a legacy, and know when to go, once he’d run his course.

I’m more sanguine about the coming years than you, mate. There is plenty of youngish talent in the squad that a fresh-minded, up-and-coming manager could make something of. Look how well-coached squads like Iraiola’s Bournemouth, Thomas Frank’s Brentford and others have done on a mere fraction of our resources. Especially when up against our outmoded system! Those clubs were once cannon fodder; now they don’t even fear us.That’s evolution for you. We will evolve again in the right circumstances.

I’d also like to think we have better owners, smarter executives and a superior infrastructure than the rags’ post-2014 cowboy outfit.

Maybe the test of this will come sooner rather than later. We won’t replicate Pep’s peak years but we sure as fcuk should remain a fighting force for some time to come.

Fergie was also written off after he went three years without winning the PL.
He followed that with three consecutive PL titles.
PL fans are so fickle. They think we just have to turn up and win.

First of all it's the pisscan, and second of all Pep ain't staying for much longer unlike the pisscan.

Out of loyalty to Mansour, the club, and city he now loves Pep has stayed despite his mrs and other close confidantes moving on.

My guess is he wishes he hadnt today and will be gone by Christmas.

Im prepared to give Pep time said someone earlier , how gracious we are.

Players, fans as entitled as xxxx , we wont see the likes of him, this again.

Nobody is going after Pep, it says. (Apart from some of our ‘fans’)
The difference between United and City in the media isn’t based on 3 games. Most City fans are pretty pissed off with the past 12 months but we also appreciate what came before it. The reason Pep doesn’t get the same grief as Amorim (or whoever the rags latest saviour is), is because Pep has been winning fucking everything for a decade and United have been and continue to be absolute dogshit, despite spending fortunes. Do they honestly expect that Pep is going to get the same grief as Amorim? These hipster, YouTube know-it-all’s, know fuck all.

Guardiola’s certainly not infallible, but I don’t think our current problems are solely down to the manager. Recruitment hasn’t been great for a while, so I’m far from convinced that someone else could come in and instantly improve things. The squad lacks real quality in key areas. Not even sure who a realistic candidate would be at this stage anyway. Regardless, we’re not going to get rid of the greatest manager of all time after three games of a season, thankfully. I trust him to work it out, as he always does. And if not, I guess him and the club will assess things at the end of the season.

I've already said that Iraola should be first on the list to take over. He can do it tomorrow as far as I'm concerned.

Guardiola is impossible to follow for many reasons, the main one being many City fans' sycophantic obsession with him.

The owners will have to do some proper football thinking once Pep goes. That will be the real test of how good they are.

That does make me feel a little warmer tbh.

Its really difficult to keep the faith following half the team being replaced and the same turgid performances.

Fuck sake. What relevance is that?

League is 100x harder than it ever was in that cunts career.

City go three years without a title and were bang in trouble
