EDS v rags (a) / 31st aug 1pm / City+ / PL2.

Let’s hope City make him a suitable pro contract then because he was not in the most recent group to sign and will be in demand.

Missed today’s game.

Even game decided on fine margins I imagine?
I think the emergence of Max Dowman and Rio Ngumoha will make conversations with the likes of Heskey / McAidoo more difficult.

Arguably they're in the same bracket when it comes to ability and older than both. So will want first team football more quickly than we would probably have planned for.

This is definitely true, IMO.
You will always get exceptional talents who bloom early and fizzle out, mainly because of their physical advantages, but I note that Viana has stated that a main priority is to enable movement from the academy to the first team. I think that wing injuries could impact on McAidoo and Heskey, and injuries in the 8/10 position on Mukasa. I hope that isn't just wishful thinking, but we cannot recruit players on long contracts just to cover for potential injuries, as many here are now lusting after. It is time to use the academy in such circumstances.

I did say to my son when Ngumoha scored last week, if he was at City he'd just be breaking into the EDS.

We have a different agenda for the kids, generally. ie selling them for big profit.

However Arteta seems to be ignoring Ethan Nwaneri. He's a very good player.

Bit concerning that Dada-Mascoll wasn’t involved, hopefully they’re just taking it super easy with him rather than him being injured again.

I agree with this

I think it's ironic we don't play youngsters for fear of a mistake when the seniors make plenty

Personally without doing it frivolously I think it would be a great time to fast track 3 or 4 for regular appearancesas and treat it as part of the rebuild.

I suppose based on last year Pep was reluctant but no excuses now, they haven't got KDB, El Mago, Yaya and Leroy in front of them Really time to freshen up with Nukasa, RHesjey, McAudo and maybe Mfuni imo

Not injured I understand could just be taking time, cautious approach.

Jayden Heskey to Sheff Wed on loan, Lakyle Samuel to Bromley, squad losing some really good lads. Be interesting to see which young lads step up

Who comes in at right back will be interesting. Ashton Muir seemed to be there on Sunday but mainly had first team on . He might not be a bad shout if he can defend a bit.

Good move for Jaden Heskey, any idea on Reigan's future?
I don’t tbh just that he doesn’t appear to have signd pro terms yet. The academy I beleive often under offer the OGs and throw money at new recruits so ot could be a club v agent wrestle. I imagine it will get resolved though due to his level

Jayden loan move fell through because of Wednesday financial mess but it looks like Ben Wilkinson has lost his assistant coach who’s gone to Wednesday as part of the first team set up
