I’m a bit surprised we’re even in for Donnarumma but only because Pep has always been obsessed with keepers who are comfortable on the ball. Even Bravo before him was picked more for what he could do with the ball than pure shot-stopping.

I would hope that the analytics dept have looked at the stats and decided the “ball-playing” advantage isn’t anywhere near as valuable as it may have been in previous years and the value is in just having someone who can pull off world-class saves week in, week out.
So yeah, on the one hand, he’s not the typical Pep keeper. On the other, he’s one of the best pure shot-stoppers on the planet. If the club think his strengths outweigh the negatives, I'm all for it.
Imho, he's an improvement in pure goalkeeping skills - the best in the world. It's rare in the last 4 years that City buy someone who immediately improves the team. Whilst we'll miss Ederson's unique ball playing skills, the spine of the team is going to be strong. Not sure about the centre-half pairing but we'll have the best goalie in the world; the best midfielder in Rodri; the best striker in Haaland. If we can get the other knobheads to get fit and get their arses in gear, it can still be a promising season.

It’s a forum for opinions and discussions, not experts. I don’t find it embarrassing having an opinion, and as I said I hope I’m proved wrong (f’ing and blinding and seemingly getting as worked up as you are on the other hand would probably cause me some embarrassment!).

I’ll trust the club to get these decisions right, and over the past decade or so more often than not they have done.
If i were you i would be embarassed you wet lettuce.

Oddly, Donnarumma improved his foot skills enough to get into the lineup again at PSG after he was dropped by a manager who requires foot skills. He will accept the coaching we give him here and will be fine. We will see more clean sheets now, which is more important than losing 6 assists over 8 seasons.

They said Haaland wasn't a Pep player.

He broke the PL record in his first season and we won the treble.

Quality is quality and this keeper is quality.

SSN reporting that there is still some distance between City and Donnarumma on personal terms.

Please, let's not spread misinformation about his distribution. There will be enough of that in the media.

I hope he buys a rain jacket in Italy before he comes over.
Annual Rainfall Comparison

  • Milan: Receives about 943 mm (37.1 inches) of rain per year.
  • Manchester: Receives about 810 mm (31.9 inches) of rain per year.
  • I know he's just been in Paris

Question of consistency though? Bangkok probably gets x10 that, but it's for a few months and an hour a day.

Manchester seems to be never ending like Chinese water torture.
