Technical ability of the squad isn't good enough.

Yep he's undoubtedly a genius.
The greatest manager ever .
And I honestly don't believe any manger will come close in the next 50 years..not just the success but to change the way football is played.
And also to win again and again with such style
But
And I hate to say it.
And hope I'm wrong I hope he comes up with a mad plan a new style and we go again
But it's starting to look less likely.

But if that's the case.
What a ride.
What an experience.

Right or Wrong, But I think Pep should have said thank you for the new offer last season, but i am having a rest and going to put my feet up and give somebody else a chance

It feels wrong to say anything bad about him.
Manchini gave us the semi final.
The cup.
Then something I never dreamt possible.
Pellagrini carried that on.
But pep.
He took us to a level that was completely unthinkable
We matched them cunts.
We won the treble.
Then went one better .
4 in a fucking row.
I love telling rags they will never win 4 in a row.
That was him.
But he should have walked them.
If he stays and we get relegated I'll not blame him.
Or ever feel bad about him.
But...

I think his time is done .

Would also help if we had wingers who could score or do something in the final third. You could excuse the drop in technical quality if they got goals, but it’s frustrating as hell watching them get into areas and then kill any chance we had.
Cherki should play on the right wing, unfortunately the lads injured now so it's not happening anytime soon.

Far too many players started putting their feet up. Few more need to go.

Legends or not.

Seen it with Kev, now Ederson. It is what it is. Players like Akanji were useful but we need players who have fire in their belly. The later didn’t want to play in the states.

Players too big for their boots, you ain’t to big to be booted out the door.

I have underestimated the rebuild.

The core is still good. We will be ok once it settles down

No point focusing on the RB. Need to stop buying alternatives and go after the best again.

Donna
Stones/dias
Gvardiol
Rodri
Haaland

Need Foden/cherki/ruddy to step up.

3 world class players away from properly stepping up again.

Start in Jan and let’s see can we land couple big players next couple windows.

The excuses need to stop. Can’t pass, not physical enough, can’t press.

All this is down to attitude. Getting rid of Ederson and Akanji will help. Even kdb thought he didn’t have to reach top level.

Time is badly needed.

I feel when you have won the lot and done it again, then really where do you go ? maybe another Champions League is only worth staying for, but right now, that's a mile away if truth be told

There is some truth in this but we also lack energy in the last 20 minutes. We keep getting over-run in midfield and shipping late goals. It is a pattern for two years now.

It's because playing with haaland means the other 10 do a lot more running cos he does nothing other than score. The others run out of gas and pep makes his subs too late.

"Well run club" indeed. What, at terrorising your own fans over season tickets? Splendid. When we were broke and a joke it was understandable and you accepted the incompetence, but we're the second richest club in the World - act like it, instead we rely on Pep to pull yet another rabbit out of the hat. Give him the tools, like the dippers have for Slot then. Or maybe he's more Paul Daniels now than Dynamo. Would have been nice to find out for sure.
Another season of out of position, limited players, playing a system they're probably not suited to.

Defo a big drop in technical ability. Add to that a lack of confidence, lack of courage and lack of physicality. We also have a manager terrified to make a change before 70 minutes - so for the last half hour of most game our unchanged team is blowing out of its are whilst the opposition with 4 fresh pairs of legs start running amok.

No solution to this. Shit will properly hit the fan after the next 3 games.

We used to suffocate teams and go for the kill in the first half, that doesn’t happen anymore. It’s not just keeping the ball either, we barely have any runners going in behind or players moving into different positions. Over the years we’ve had so many players getting in behind causing mayhem for the opposition defence, it pulls defenders out of position and creates space for the cutback/cross.

Nowadays we’re very methodical, static and to be honest boring to watch. We start games how we used to play in the second half when we were already four up conserving energy.

I’m not sure what the answer is as there’s a number of issues. The squad simply doesn’t have the talent it had previously, we’ve gone from having a full team (minus left back) of world class players to having 3 or 4 at best. Some of the players have gotten older and others may have lost a bit of desire after all they’ve won. Purely speculation on my part but I think Pep is desperate to stay until 115 is finished so he can either stick with the club or give it to the media once and for all.

I’m not really sure as a club what our approach is going forward. We’ve made some good signings in the past two windows but it still feels like the overall squad quality has dropped. We also have a few players who aren’t really suited to our current style (Haaland and Marmoush).

Hopefully Pep has the solution but I suspect this year will be another where we aim for top 4/5 and hope to do well in the cups.

Yep .
And maybe some fans feel the same.
I remember when those cunts won the treble
Mates of mine said then that's it.
No point anymore nothing will top that.
Pep has done that 4 times really.
100 points.
Domestic treble.
The treble.
And then 4 in a row.
After the treble I thought that's it completed football.
I'll give it one more year.
Then 4 in a row.

The pinnacle.
The ultimate.
Along with the cost.

Tourists I've called it a day.
Rag mates are now calling me a glory hunter.
I've watched city home and away all my life .
Started going in 84 when I was 7.
When we were shit I loved it.
The atmosphere.
The togetherness with blues mates.
Top lads I'm still mates will now from the north stand.
Still sit with a few in block 220 .
But football now isn't for me.
It's fake .
Boring.

But how do we argue when he's won 18 bits of silverware in 9 years
I will say one thing, Football and other clubs will find you out if you keep the same system for a long space of time

Manchester City need something different ? Now it's up to Pep to prove he can challenge for the title again

No-one can argue with Pep's record. He's been the best of the best. But now he probably isn't.

His system is predictable and boring, his team selections in recent times are baffling, and his demeanour is frequently that of a man who has had enough.

The team is stale, the tactics are stale, the team performances are erratic, and opposition coaches are increasingly finding Pep’s tactics out.

He's probably not the man to rebuild abd taje City forward, certainly not at £20m+ per year.

Square pegs / Round holes

Pep gets £100m Jack Grealish and sticks him out on the touchline, killing his natural game.

Pep has had Phil Foden for years and still hasn't worked out his best position.

There are more examples, but you get my drift.
Strange post. Essentially you are saying that Pep, arguably the best manager in modern times. doesnt know what he is doing?

Grealish is playing in the same position for Everton but without facing a 10 man low block.

For what ever reason, Phil Foden has failed to establish himself in a recognised position for City or England. That is as much down to the player to impose themselves.

Pep picks the teams but he doesnt run the club so who knows what is going on?

Glory was never asked for or demanded by the fans at Manchester City
When you have lost a game on a wet windy cold freezing night away from home in the old 3rd division and come back for more and more, you're born a Manchester City fan

Look, we all have a moan and a wobble and hate losing, but boy we are light years away from 1999 and sometime i forget what and where we are as a football club, My rant about Pep is probably OTT and i would love nothing more than for him to ram it back down my throat and prove me wrong

I'm done with football not because of pep.
Or we not winning at the min.
Just because it's shite.
Var mainly.

I wish I didn't feel this way.
But I do .
I'm out

We all hope Foden & etc. would do well as CAMs for the time being. Maybe a new CM is also on the way by Winter. Certainly given Gundogan and McAtee's summer departures...

Our squad is 2 under the maximum it can be ,so not wafer thin, we have 24 so about right. Don’t know what Liverpool are like number wise, with Guehi not going they must also be at least 1 under the maximum so hardly a bigger squad, and thin defensively.
Wafer thin in terms of quality you only had to look at the bench against Brighton to see that the scousers have bought well I don't understand peps small squad syndrome if Haarland gets injured what next cherki is out for two
