Not everything is a conspiracy, plenty were on here saying it was harsh on Trafford weeks ago when it was announced we’d agreed terms with Donnaruma.People swallowing the media narrative that Trafford has been used and abused by City.
I do wonder if the dips or rags had signed one of the worlds best keepers the media would be staffing until they were jizzing air.
Not sure who in the right mind thinks they can just jump from being the no1 at a team that just won the championship, to instantly being the no1 at a team that competes to be the best club in Europe every single season.Did he tell you this?
How is competing with Donnarumma any different to competing with Ederson?
Specially in possession Trafford looks really nervous still and the opposition senses that. That Spurs game ofcourse was very messy. We would have had the weakest GK pairing if we went in with Trafford+Ortega.I'm flabbergasted at how many people think we were gonna go into the season with a 22 year old from the Championship as our number 1.

Nah he was shit last year and looked on skates most times.I actually feel for Ortega. He deserves to be starting for a top team but now he’s number three for us.

There's not a prayer that the club tells any player (Haaland aside) that they're guaranteed to start
Still won’t be as good as Niall Quinn at saving themMight actually see a penalty saved with this guy in between the sticks.
Its not a big fee. Its less than what we paid for Trafford. That said its the better outcome for City which is what should matter at the end of the day. Citys GK today>Citys GK on 31st August.32, clearly on the decline, 1 year left on his contract vs 26, just signed for a big fee and among the highest earners in the squad for the next 6 years.
Why are you pretending these are the same scenarios?
There are absolutely NO guarantees in football, as I suspect you know. Does Trafford think he can be better than Donnaruma? I’d imagine he does.32, clearly on the decline, 1 year left on his contract vs 26, just signed for a big fee and among the highest earners in the squad for the next 6 years.

With Donnarumma, Haaland and nunes we’re slowly Turing into a team of munters. Rags still have that rat Fernandes so he top trumps all of our lot so we’re good for now.United clearly signed a better looking one.
Why are you writing it as if he’s gonna read it and be upset.Welcome. And I hope you do well.
In another side you'd be world class.
But under this manager, where we prize ball retention highly... I honestly think that you're a misfit.
Your distribution is not great and unlike PSG, we don't have the ability to easily cope with this.
I think we'll try to play out from the back almost always with Donnarumma, and because of this, Donnarumma will be caught out much more than Ederson or Trafford.

Considering there were only 2 teams that conceded less than 10 shots per game last season, Arsenal and City, maybe this is just the signing we need to turn some results round.Turns out Pep wanted him back in 2017 before they brought Ederson in. He loves him, and back then he felt that he could be trained to improve his play on the ball. There's obviously not been a huge amount of progression in that in the ensuing years, but Pep's feeling is still that he's a world class goalkeeper who can improve all aspects of his game.
This is much more of a Pep signing than I had originally anticipated it to be.
